Arguably one of HTC’s most popular phones, the Verizon #Thunderbolt might be getting the long overdue successor. If a trademark filing is anything to go by, the Taiwanese manufacturer is looking to release the “HTC Bolt” over the coming months.
Naturally, it’s hard to imagine a device with this name being catered for the mid-ranged segment, so the assumption here is that the phone will be a high-end offering. Since HTC has already exhausted its quota for the number of flagships this year, it’s being speculated that the Bolt could be a codename for the manufacturer’s 2017 flagship.
It’s quite possible that we’re reading too much into a trademark filing, but it’s hard not to get excited when there could be a potential successor to the HTC Thunderbolt in the making. The recently launched HTC 10 has been widely praised for being one of the best-looking phones of the year, and we’re hoping to see the trend continue with the company’s upcoming devices.
