Things you need to do to setup your new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 [Device Management]

The new #Samsung #Galaxy Note 7 (#Note7) is yet to be released and if you’re getting one through your carrier or service provider, you might receive it depending on when the company gets its stocks. But the thing about carried phones is that once they reach customers hands, they’re ready to be used. But even so, there are things that you need to set up so the phone will be ready for use depending on your preference.

So, in this post, I will guide you through in setting up your new Galaxy Note 7 and I will explain every step if necessary. This is to make sure you can get the most out of your new premium device when it reaches your hand. Of course, for users who are already used to setting up Android devices, you may already know how to go about this but for first time users, go through the steps below.

On this page:

Galaxy Note7 First Time Setup

Step 1: Turn on your phone by pressing and holding Power key until the Samsung Galaxy Note7 screen appears. This is pretty basic procedure and you shouldn’t have any problems turning your device on because most of the time the phone comes with slightly charged battery. However, if the device won’t turn on, don’t panic. Instead connect the charger and leave the phone plugged in for ten minutes and then you can try this step.

Step 2: From the Welcome screen, choose the appropriate language and then touch NEXT. Wait for a few seconds to complete the activation.

Step 3: For carried units, you may need to verify your account. More often, it’s the last 4 digits of the account holder’s Social Security Number or the Billing Password as provided by your carrier.

Step 4: From the Phone Activation screen, touch NEXT. Some carriers added an option wherein you can follow on-screen instructions on how to transfer data from your old phone to the new one–if you’re upgrading, that is–so try following them carefully, otherwise, tap No thanks, then NEXT.

Step 5: Now, it’s time to add a Google account to your Android phone. It is necessary to enable all services and download apps from the Play Store. If you already have an account, click here to add it to your phone and click here if you are yet to create a Google account.

Step 6: After adding your Google account, you will be prompted to setup device security. You can actually skip this step if you want to setup lockscreen security at a later time. But if you want, you can choose whether to use fingerprint, iris scanning, PIN, pattern or password.

Step 7: Pretty much at this point, the setup is done. If ever you want to add another account, you can do so when you’re on Email Accounts screen. From the summary screen, tap DONE and that’s it!
