#Samsung took the mobile industry by storm earlier this week with the arrival of the #GalaxyNote7. The smartphone is known for the iris scanner feature which allows users to unlock the handset using just their eyes. Samsung has now mentioned that this feature took three years to develop and perfect, suggesting that it wasn’t an overnight decision to bring the feature on board. In fact, the company released a budget ranged Galaxy Tab model featuring an iris scanner, which frankly took us all by surprise.
The Korean manufacturer has also mentioned that this feature will be present on mid-ranged smartphones/tablets as well, hinting that this feature won’t be exclusive to its high-end offerings. This is quite a bold decision by the company as it could effectively increase the cost of production. But it’s certainly going to pay off considering the kind of popularity the company enjoys in the mid-range market segment.
Do you welcome this news or should Samsung keep this feature limited to flagships? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
