S6 Message Has Failed to Send
Problem: everytime I send a text message my phone tells me the message has failed to send although the person who the message was sent to receives it
Solution: Since the message was indeed sent then the problem might just be caused by some form of corrupt data within the messaging app. Go to the application manager then look for the messaging app. From here clear the cache and data of the app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs.
Another factor that can cause this problem is a conflict with a third party app. To check if this is the case just start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If you don’t see the error message while the phone is working in this mode then it’s most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
S6 No Text Notifications
Problem: Hello, I turned my phone on to power saving / ultra power saving mode when my batter was experiencing battery drain issues. Now I no longer receive text notifications no matter how many times I soft reset my phone. I made sure to check the settings and have notifications turned on but I am still not getting any notifications. I am trying to avoid a hard reset but please let me know if I can do anything to fix this issue! Thank you!
Solution: Have you checked if your phone volume is properly set? Try setting the volume to its maximum level then check if the issue still occurs. If your phone is still in power saving mode then make sure to start the phone in normal mode as this could be what’s causing the problem.
You should also try to check if a third party app installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the text notifications work in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
One last troubleshooting step that you should consider if the above steps fail is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.
S6 Text Notification No Sound
Problem: My text notifications do not always sound. I usually get a notification sound with the first text but most often do not get sound notifications with subsequent texts within the same conversation.
Solution: Is the text conversation window open when you receive a new message?If it is then chances are you won’t be getting any sound notifications.
If the text notification does not sound when the message app is closed then this might be caused by a glitch in the messaging app. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to do.Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.
- Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app.
- Start the phone in recovery mode. Wipe the cache partition of your device.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Sends Text Message To Wrong Person
Problem: I have a Galaxy S6 Active. While I am texting to someone, it will sent the message to someone else in my contact list. Also sometimes when I receive a text from one person, it shows up as coming from someone else in my contact list. This is all random people that I may or may not have sent a text to recently.
Related Problem: When I send a text to one person it sends a text to another person whose phone number is not close to the one I texted. I checked to see if the numbers were listed under one person but they’re not. I have done several hard reboots.
Solution: Try checking your contact list first and make sure that you don’t have any duplicate name entries with different numbers. You should also try to check if this issue occurs when your phone is in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. One last troubleshooting step you should consider is a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.
S6 Not Getting Text Message From Go SMS Pro
Problem: I am having intermittent issues with group messaging using GO SMS PRO. When I am in a group message, I sometimes do not receive the message from one of the people in the group – it shows they respond but it is an empty bubble with no text in it. I have contacted the developer twice on this and have not received a response. I have changed the MMS size to 1M and enabled group messaging. Not sure what else I can do.
Solution: Make sure that the message that you are not getting is not coming from an iPhone since it might be an iMessage. If the message comes from an Android device then you should try uninstalling the GO SMS Pro app then install a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
