S6 Freezing After Upgraded To Marshmallow

Problem: My samsung galaxy s6 is freezing after upgraded to marshmallow. .. i had tried many idea Reboot , Data factory reset , caches partition ,uninstalled 3rd party app but still freeze, please help me with this issue, our native samsung care has also given up on this issue

Solution: It appears that the update is causing the problem on this device. Since you have already performed most of the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular issue I suggest that you flash the previous version back to your phone. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular forums online.

Some tips to consider when flashing your device.

  • Your phone data will be erased so make sure to make a backup copy first.
  • There are several firmware versions available so make sure to get the exact version for your phone model.
  • Make sure that your phone has sufficient charge before flashing it.

S6 Bricked After Update

Problem: Galaxy s6 sprint. Phone asked if I wanted wanted to update, I clicked yes. The phone went to restart and when it did it shows a Droid with X in eyes and triangle with an exclamation point then the screen goes black, shows the galaxy s6 logo then back back to the Droid with the triangle. It continues this loop until it dies. When I get get to the Droid and hit the power button there is no menu, the loop just restarts. i tried everything on your website

Solution: This is a very rare case wherein the phone gets bricked during the update process. Since you mentioned that you already tried everything on our website then I recommend that you try flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. Instructions on how to flash your device can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

S6 Stuck In Download Mode

Problem: Hi My samsung galaxy s6 froze on the black and white start screen today. I have tried to reboot it the way you say but It gets stuck on a blue screen that says ODIN MODE and downloading do not turn off target. It doesn’t go off that screen so I’m not sure what to do, is there any way of retrieving photos off the phone when it is frozen like this or is everything lost now.

Solution: If the phone is stuck in download mode you won’t be able to retrieve the photos stored in your device. You will have to get out of this mode first. Try simultaneously  pressing the power button and home button for at least 15 seconds. This will restart the device. If this doesn’t fix the problem then try starting the phone in recovery mode. You can do this by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power keys at the same time. Release all three buttons when the screen flickers and you see a warning sign then press Volume Up to continue to the main screen of Recovery mode. Once in this mode try wiping the cache partition of your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it still does then you should consider doing a factory reset in recovery mode which will erase all of your data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

S6 Unstable Connection After Marshmallow Update

Problem: My phone updated to marshmallow a few weeks ago.  Now I have an unstable connection.  My mobile data will show it is connected but I am unable to surf the Web,  send or receive media content via text,  etc.  Additionally,  if I select lte/3g/2g under network connections I will connect briefly and then the signal is lost,  but if I select 3g/2g to be connected automatically I at least maintain a connection to the att network,  but I am only able to sporadically connect to mobile data.  This is not a signal issue because my husband is not having the same issue with his phone which is a non android phone. I have replaced the sim card and performed a factory reset.

Solution: Since you have already replaced the SIM card and have done a factory reset then the most likely cause of this issue is either the update or the phone hardware.

Before doing any troubleshooting try to check if the same issue occurs in other areas. If it doesn’t then the signal in your area might be weak which points out to a network problem. You should also check if your phone is using the correct APN settings. Compare the phone APN settings to your carrier settings and make the necessary changes in your device if needed.

If the network is not causing this problem then the best thing to do right now is to rollback the phone software to its previous version. This allows you to check if the update is causing the problem. You will need to manually flash the old software version to your phone. Refer to some of the popular Android forums online on the procedure to do this.

If the issue still remains even after flashing the phone software then you should have your phone checked at a service center.

S6 Freezes Even In Recovery Mode

Problem:  I tried many Stock firmware from Sammobile 6.0.1,  5.0.1,  5.1.1 and the result is the same- the phone freezes 1 or 2 minutes after setup and start. Sometimes he restart from himself, sometimes i must do force restart. I do hard reset from recovery and do wipe data- nothing change. He freezes even in recovery mode. He work only in download mode. Is this a hardware

problem and if yes what can it be? Thank you in advance.

Solution: If your phone freezes even in recovery mode then the issue could be caused by a faulty NAND chip or possibly other internal component. I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center for this issue.

S6 Apps Keeps On Needing Permission After Marshmallow Update

Problem: After installing Marshmallow, Apps need permission to other areas. contacts, microphone, and such. When I’m asked, i go to settings. some apps are listed, not all. When I go to permissions, it is not allowed and starts the process all over again. Into a settings loop consistently.

Solution: This appears to be caused by an update glitch. To fix this issue I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
