Note 4 Powers Down On Its Own
Problem: I share similar issues with all those above. My note 4 powers down, no matter the battery level. And IF I can manage to get it back on, it loses a large chunk of battery life. The only successful way (and even this takes quite some time and patience, as every time I do this, It takes longer) is for me to remove and reinsert the battery AND S pen repeatedly until it powers on. I’ve tried everything I can think of, I’ve soft reset, cleared cache, deleted all my apps, even used the air compressor at work to clean out nooks and crannies. I’ve even factory reset my phone several times. I’m losing hope, I paid full price for this phone when it came out, as I’m pay as you go, no data plan. I won’t even put minutes on it now, I’m afraid too.. As I’m writing this, this is the first time I’ve gotten my phone on in over 24 hours! And I’ve been trying pretty much this whole time to get it on! Hopefully someone here can shed some light?
Solution: Based on the troubleshooting steps that you have already performed I recommend that you try replacing the battery of your phone with a new one. This a a good way to check if your phone has a faulty battery and is causing the problem.
If the issue remains even after replacing the battery then I recommend that you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi so recently I dropped my phone in water and after i fixed it and all, it started to work by only showing the battery icon thing and i never was able to actually turn on my phone because when I charge it, it says that i’m charging it but from 1%, it never goes up…so i turn it on but it turns off again…is my phone not turning on because i have only 1% of battery so I need to fix my battery part? or is it because something is wrong with my phone in general?
Solution: There are two things that could be causing this particular issue. First, it could be caused by the battery that got damaged when the phone got wet. If this is the case then you should replace this battery with a new one. Second, the issue could be caused by some hardware component failure. This usually happens when water comes in contact with a component inside your phone and the phone when it is turned on. This results in the component short circuiting. If this is the case then you should have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Shuts Down By Itself
Problem: my galaxy note 4 keep shuting down by it self .. when it shut down .. i can’t turn it on back without put it in charger or open the battery and put it again.. why this problem happen .. i have change the battery and clear the partition cache .. but still not working .. my phone still shutting down .. please help me .. sorry for my bad english ..
Solution: Since you have already replaced the battery and wiped the cache partition of your phone I suggest that you do a factory reset as this issue might be caused by a glitch in the phone software. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then we might be looking at a hardware related problem. I recommend you have your phone checked at a service center if this is the case.
Note 4 Shuts Down When GPS Is Used
Problem: Every time I use my GPS 10 to 15 mins into usage my phone shuts down and reboots. I feel it getting a little warm but other than that it works fine. I have tried using it in safe mode but it still shuts down. What should I do this is a first it was working fine before I upgraded to the 6.0.
Solution: Try connecting your phone to its charger then use the GPS. Observe if the phone still shuts down. If it doesn’t shut down then the issue could be caused by a weak phone battery. Get a new battery and see if this fixes the problem.
If the issue occurs even when the phone is connected to its charger then the next thing to do is to check if the phone software is causing this issue. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
Note 4 Shuts Down With Power Left
Problem: There is a green flashing light above the home button when the battery charge symbol is on the screen which i’ve never noticed before. Also my phone tends to reach 22 percent of any digits and die, and once i plug it in and get it going again it is back on at the same digits which i gather it means my battery is damaged but i was just hoping to verify that. Thank you Ps it is a SAMSUNG NOTE 4 apologies
Solution: It’s very likely that you phone has a weak battery and needs to be replaced. You should however check first if the phone software is causing this problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should get a new battery.
Note 4 Shuts Down Randomly After Marshmallow Update
Problem: When I open the camera or go into the gallery the phone shuts down. When I delete apps it shuts down & sometimes I have no apps opened and it will shut down with 65% battery. I clean the cache constantly and have had to remove the battery. All this has happened since the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update. Thanks for your help.
Solution: If this issue just occured after the Marshmallow update then it could be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from your phone. This old data is causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should consider getting a new battery as the one you have on your phone right now could already be faulty.
Note 4 Keeps On Restarting
Problem: The phone will only get to the main Galaxy 4 home page, and then it will shut down again and start the process over again. A blue then green light blinks in the upper left hand corner of the phone. I have tried removing the battery, waiting some time, then starting over again. I get the same result. Please help if you can. Thank you!
Solution: Try taking out the battery and microSD card ( if your phone has one) first then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges your phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should connect your phone to its wall charger then see if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then you should try replacing your phone battery with a new one. Should the issue remain then try starting your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data so make sure to have a backup ready.
