Note 4 Phone App Keeps Freezing
Problem: My Note 4, the “Phone” app keeps freezing everytime I receive a call. When I receive a call, I get a continuous pop-up saying “Phone has stopped”. I get the option to close the pop-up but it keeps recurring, and my only option left is to quickly click close on the pop-up and hit restart as soon as possible. Rarely, there will be one call that I will be able to pick up successfully.
Solution: Whenever this type of issue occurs restarting the phone is a good troubleshooting step. If the issue persists then try clearing the cache and data of the phone app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will delete the temporary system data of your device.
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy of your phone data first.
Note 4 You Are Not Allowed To Make This Call Error
Problem: Everytime I try to make a call I get a voice message saying “You are not allowed to make this call.” But I am able to receive calls and also send and receive messages. I have also replaced my sim with a new sim but still not able to make calls.
Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to contact your carrier and have them check your account status. There might be an issue with the account that prevents you from making a call. Once you have verified that the issue is not with the account or the network then it’s time to troubleshoot the phone.
The first thing you should do is to check if the issue occurs while your phone is running in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Try making a call in this mode. If you can make a call then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Out Of Reception Area
Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy note 4. I have a lot of problems with it saying “out of reception area” or” no mobile network available. This when I am in the middle of a large city, sometimes within view of mobile network towers. It happens in multiple cities. I have tried switching on and off, taken the battery out, restoring factory settings and re loading the latest OS, switching to aeroplane mode, replacing the sim, restarting, running updates. Nothing works. Please assist.
Solution: Since you have already performed all of the troubleshooting steps to check if the phone software or the network is causing the issue without any results then this problem is most likely a hardware issue already. There might be a problem with the phone antenna that’s causing it to have difficulty getting a signal. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have this checked.
Note 4 Can’t Make Calls After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Just updated a couple of hours ago to marshmallow os, and cannot make any calls. The contacts app crashes every time, and I had no issues with Lollipop. I’ve spent the last three hours searching for help, and have tried clearing the cache, rebooting, and a soft reset to no avail. If you can’t help, I’ll have to roll back to Lollipop so I can use my phone.
Solution: For this particular issue I highly recommend that you do a factory reset. This will remove any old software data that’s still left behind which is now causing a conflict with the new software version. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
Note 4 Phone Has Stopped Error
Problem: When I use any app such as whatsapp, or any other music or gaming app, I am not able receive calls while the phone is ringing. Instead I get a message saying “phone has stopped”. It gets more difficult since I cannot switch off my phone or do anything else with it after I press “OK” because the message is still there on the screen and does not disappear. The only option I’m left with is to remove the battery and restart my phone again, but the problem still prevails. However, this isn’t the case when i’m not using any of the apps, i.e, I can answer the calls while I’m in the home page. This issue has been on for two days now. Please help.
Related Problem: Hello i own a note 4 and my problem with my phone is that every time someone is trying to call me my phone will come out with a “unfortunately the phone stop working” message whilst the phone is still ringing while the message is in the screen. The message never turn off till you restart the phone which is a struggle. Please kindly advise for solution. Thanks and more power.
Related Problem: Since the last update whenever there is an open app, if someone calls me “unfortunately phone stopped working” error appears. Please help me to solve the issue.
Solution: This is similar issue to one which we have addressed above. The first thing that you need to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the phone app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This action deletes the temporary system data which if corrupt can cause this problem.
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then proceed with a factory reset. Take note that you will need to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
Note 4 Call Sound Is Quite
Problem: The last 3 people I have spoken to on my smartphone have said I sound really quiet. It seems to be getting worse each time, the last person I spoke to said it sounded like I was on the moon, I could hear them fine but we were unable to have a proper conversation and had to hang up and communicate by text or facebook instead. It makes difference if I call out or receive. Any advice in this matter would be much appreciated.
Related Problem: I have just my new note 4 . At times I am getting very low sound while calling Not even able to hear what the other person saying whereas other person is getting clear voice. I have no clue what to do , pls advice.
Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to check if the problem is network related. To do this try making a call in different locations then ask for feedback from the person you are calling if they can hear you clearly. If the issue persists then the next thing you should do is to check if the microphone is working properly. Record a short voice clip using the voice recorder app. Playback the file then check if it can be heard clearly. If it can’t then the problem could be caused by your phone microphone. Have this checked at a service center.
If your voice can be clearly heard from the recorded file then the next step is to check if your call can be clearly heard in Safe Mode. If it can then an app might be causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the above steps fail to fix the issue then you should backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
