Canadian carrier Telus has revealed that the likes of the #Huawei #Nexus6P and the #LG #Nexus5X could receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update by August 22. This comes after a software update schedule was posted by the carrier on its forums. This basically means that the update could be sent out by Monday to most Nexus devices, assuming this won’t remain a Canada only affair.
It will be interesting to see if Google will comment on this now since the carrier has pretty much let out the secret. We all knew the updates were coming, but didn’t know when. With the date now being clarified, owners of the 2015 Nexus phones can rest easy knowing that their phones will be the first to get the coveted update.
What about the other Nexus devices? Well, there’s not much clarification on the timeline of the update for those devices, but we don’t think Google will make its customers wait for too long. In any case, if you have a Nexus device that is still under Google’s software support umbrella, an update should hit your smartphone/tablet before the end of September or October.
