Android users will now see a sign-in notification for their Google account

Google Sign-In Notifications

Security is one of the major concerns for mobile users. In order to keep users in check of unauthorized sign-ins and other activity, #Google will now start sending #Android system notifications whenever you sign-in from a different device. As you can see in the screenshot above, the notification is pretty self-explanatory and tells you when you have signed-in to your account from another device or computer. Of course, this account will have to be paired with your phone as well.

Google already sends sign-in notifications in the form of text messages and emails (to a separately linked account), so this is a pretty nice touch as well and further bolsters the security of your Google account. The feature should be live for most users, but Google has only made the announcement now, so we’re guessing it has just gone official.

Are you seeing the feature already? What do you make of this?

  1. Sounds like a good idea. I used to receive something similar with Windows 7, but may have been related to a previous internet provider?
But, with Google & others pushing everyone to logon anywhere & everywhere, regardless of device, I wonder if this is going to become annoying for those that actually do?
