The recently launched #Xiaomi #Redmi3s is now available for shipping globally via Chinese retailer GearBest. Among the list of countries is the U.S., where Xiaomi devices are hard to find. The manufacturer is not officially selling it in the U.S. though, so this third party retailer is your only way to get the handset in the U.S.
This here is a slightly modified version of the standard Redmi 3 and comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back, accompanied by a 5-inch 720p display, an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, 16GB of storage (expandable), 2GB of RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow and a 4,100 mAh battery.
The retailer is charging about $152 for the handset, which is pretty reasonable considering the hardware packing underneath. This could be Xiaomi’s way of slowly making its mark in the U.S., without officially having a presence in the country. The company has expressed ambitions to sell its devices in the U.S. for the long haul, although that still seems to be a work in progress. You can hit the GearBest page below to get the Redmi 3s.
