According to a report from a Taiwanese source, #Xiaomi will launch its first ever smartwatch over the coming months in September. If you recall, this is not the first time we’re hearing about the company intending to release a smartwatch, with previous reports indicating that it would be unveiled with the Mi 5. So make sure you take this particular revelation with a pinch of salt as usual.
It is said that this smartwatch will feature a 1.3-inch round display and have an appearance similar to the Moto 360. Further, it is believed that this wearable will be running on the Snapdragon 410 SoC, which is what’s used on most Android Wear offerings these days. Coming to the software side of things, the report doesn’t specifically mention if the device will be running Android Wear, but it appears to be the case.
We suggest you treat this as a preliminary report for the time being as there’s still no confirmation on whether Xiaomi will actually release a smartwatch.
