Perhaps the retailer didn’t want to give these companies their cut/commission, which makes sense from a financial perspective. However, the rollout of this service was relatively slim with just Arkansas and Texas covered by Walmart Pay. That changes today with 15 new states joining the list. There are select outlets in these cities where it’s supported, so not all stores in the states will make it available.
You can now find Walmart Pay in the following states:
Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Using Walmart Pay is an easy process and only requires you to hook up your credit/debit card with the Walmart account. Beyond this, it’s as simple as scanning a QR code while at the check out counter. What’s better is that you can look at all your receipts directly from the app, which is pretty cool.
