The screen of a phone is usually what attracts a user to it. Most of the high end models today, such as the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note 4, come with Full HD displays that provide a better user experience. This is because the higher the resolution of the screen the more detail it can display. There are however instances that even if the phone uses one of the best displays in the market it will have issues. This is what we will tackle today as we deal with the Galaxy Note 4 screen turns off issue & other related problems.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or any other Android device for that matter then feel free to contact us using this form. We will be more than happy to assist you with any concern that you may have with your device. This is a free service we are offering with no strings attached. Note 4 Screen Turns Off
Problem: My phone will turn on and then after 30 sec when the screen turns off and I try to swipe to unlock it it won’t swipe and the screen turns off and I end up having to turn it off and on again or reboot it and cache partition it but I end up with it doing the same thing it doesn’t matter what I do it still does the same thing and I can’t even use my phone for more than 30 seconds… I thought it was a theme I downloaded but nope not it I deleted it and same thing happens… I thought maybe there was damage from the battery heating up too much but the battery’s not heating up when it happens so for now I can’t even use my phone so hopefully you can help me
Solution: Try starting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps of the phone are allowed to run. This is a good way to check if an app you downloaded is causing this problem. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it might be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue occurs even in Safe Mode then you need to start the phone fresh by doing a factory reset. Take note that you have to backup your phone data before doing this. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists then try using a new battery on your phone. If this doesn’t work then you need to bring your phone to an authorized service center as the problem could already be hardware related.
Note 4 Screen Does Not Turn On When Unlocked
Problem: Recently when I lock the screen then try to unlock it the screen doesn’t turn on. It remains black but I can hear it unlocking. I have to restart my phone that’s when the screen turns on but as soon as I lock the screen again it goes back to the same problem. I have tried a soft reset, have also restored to factory settings and lastly have reloaded the software using Samsung Kies 3, but still having the same problem. Please help
Solution: Since you mentioned that a factory reset doesn’t solve the issue then this might already be a hardware related problem. Before bringing the phone to a service center for checking try do one more round of software troubleshooting by following the steps listed below. Move to the next step should the problem still occur.
- Turn off your phone. Remove the battery and the microSD card ( if your phone has one installed). Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then check if the issue still occurs.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode the only apps that are allowed to run are the pre-installed apps. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it might be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in the phone yet. Check first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fail to resolve the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Screen Black After Drop
Problem: My screen is black after dropping it and I’m still getting calls but i can’t pick them up or call anyone because the screen is black and it is flickering a little bit.
Solution: Since this problem occured right after the phone was dropped then it’s very likely that the display has been damaged. As for troubleshooting this phone try checking if you are able to access the recovery mode. This is a separate environment from the main operating system and is handy to check if the problem is caused by the phone software. If the black screen issue still occurs in recovery mode then I suggest you bring your phone to a service center. Otherwise, you need to do a factory reset. Take note that you must have a copy of your phone data before doing the reset.
Note 4 Hairline Lines Across Screen after Update
Problem: Streaking thin hairlines lines across the screen whenever I touch the screen or type. Lines are vertical, horizontal, and squirrely. This happened right after the update.
Solution: Since this issue occured right after a software update you need to check if your phone apps require updating as well. If your apps are outdated then they might not be optimized to run on your new phone software. To check for any new updates just open the Google Play Store then head out over to the My Apps section.
If you apps are already updated then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this doesn’t work then proceed with doing a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in the process so make sure to have a backup copy first.
Note 4 Half Grey Screen
Problem: my Note 4 has joined the group of devices with this frozen half grey screen and I am wondering whether anyone has a solution? i did everything to fix it but nobody help out….i can’t pay for it can you please help me
Solution: Have you done a factory reset already? ( Make sure to have a backup copy of your data before doing this step). If the reset fails to fix the issue then this could already be a hardware issue in which case you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked. The most likely culprit in this case is a defective screen.
Note 4 Black Screen With Notifications Working
Problem: Black screen, all notifications work..lighting led works..volume works, s voice works..just black screen
Solution: Try starting your phone in Safe Mode. If the screen is still black in this mode then proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode. If you are able to access this mode then do a factory reset from here. This deletes your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding.
If the above steps fail to solve the problem then the display of your phone might be damaged already. Have this checked at a serviced center.
