Note 4 Randomly Powers Down
Problem: My phone just randomly powers down and it acts like its booting up and it never does, and then randomly it will turn on but i never know how long it will last. i have bought a new battery, did a factory reset and it still does the same thing. Just now i took the battery out for a minute and i was able to restart it, but i am not sure what is going on……………just frustrated.
Solution: Try booting your phone while it is connected to its all charger. Does the phone turn on normally? If it does then the problem could be hardware related possibly caused by a faulty battery or an issue with the power IC of the phone. Since you have already replaced the battery then it’s very likely that the issue is board related. If this is the case I would suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Randomly Freezes Restarts Does Not Turn On
Problem: First, the phone would randomly freeze and restart it started happening after i tried to update it. it kept telling me the installation was being interrupted so i factory reset it then it updated and that’s when it started freezing. i thought it was the battery so i bought a new one and nothing changed it wont even turn on when i plug it in now. sometimes i’ll get lucky and it will, but it hasn’t turned on in awhile.
Solution: I suspect that this may already be a hardware related issue since you mentioned that you have already performed a factory reset and even replaced the battery.
You can however perform a few other troubleshooting steps to check on this further.
- If the phone has a microSD card installed try taking it out as this card could be causing the problem.
- Try to turn on the phone with its wall charger attached. If the phone turns on then try using a new battery as the one you are using could be causing the problem.
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then I suggest you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 4 Freezes Then Shuts Off
Problem: My phone lately has been freezing and then shutting off completely. When i turn it back on its fine but it if you type in the password too fast it will freeze again. This usually happens about 8-10 times a day. I just clicked on the software update(this will be the third update) and now its stuck on the sprint sign with the yellow lines behind the name Sprint. Its like its frozen in the turning on the phone phase. It’s been frozen in this position for about 3 hours.I also downloaded a lot of music from the mp3 free music downloading apps and my phone constantly says there’s a virus. When there’s a virus i get the clean master app it tells me to and use it but my phone still is shutting off randomly and saying there are viruses.
Solution: It looks like this issue is caused by a rogue app installed in the phone or some form of corrupt temporary data. The fact that you are getting some virus notification alert (which is most likely fake) suggests that the phone software has been affected. The best way to deal with this issue is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in your device just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
Note 4 Powering On And Off By Itself
Problem: I’m having problems with my device it keeps powering off and on by itself I can’t get it to stop it won’t even reset or start over or anything I don’t know what is wrong with it it just started doing it and I can’t get it to stop
Solution: Here’s what you need to do in this type of issue. Before doing any troubleshooting take out the microSD card of your phone as this could also be causing the problem. First, check if the issue is caused by the phone software by starting the phone in recovery mode. Check if the phone powers off in this mode. If it doesn’t then you can perform two actions in this mode.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone
- Do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before doing this.
In case the above steps fail you should try to connect the phone to its wall charger then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery or the phone hardware. Try using a new battery on your phone first. If this doesn’t work then you should have your phone checked at a service center as the problem could already be hardware related.
Note 4 Turns Off Unless Connected to Charger
Problem: Hey there! I’m glad I found this site so I can ask for some help. For a couple of weeks ago my phone just turn itself off when I’m trying to start for example Internet or snapchat and it won’t start until I plug in the charger. My phone can be on 90% and then just dies, it tries to start itself up and shows “galaxy note 4 powered by android” and then shuts down and tries again but it won’t start until I’ll charge it. I hope you guys understand what I mean and can help me.
P.S. Don’t know if I picked the right choice in “carrier”, dunno what it’s really.
Solution: There are two things that you need to look into for this type of issue. First you need to check if the phone software is causing the problem. To do this you need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything in the phone yet. Instead, check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem still occurs then try using a new battery on your phone as the battery could be faulty.
If the above steps fail to resolve the problem then you should have your phone checked a a service center as it’s possible that this is already caused by a faulty hardware component inside your phone.
Note 4 Restarts Then Freezes
Problem: My phone keeps on restarting every once in awhile. At Least once or twice a day the phone freezes first for few seconds and then restarts. Another problem i am facing is that battery is draining way faster and when it reaches below 10% the phones shuts down even if battery is 6% or 8% or 4% etc. A friend of mine also has note 4 and is experiencing the same problem since the marshmallow update
Solution: Try doing a factory reset first to eliminate any possible software issues that could be causing this problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding with this. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you try to use a new battery on your phone.
Note 4 Turned Off Stopped Working
Problem: Hello, I have a couple questions about my note 4 what’s going on is the phone just stopped working on its own no water touched it and never fell. I was on snapchat the phone randomly just turned off and stopped working i would plug it in the charger but no use it would show me the battery sign and turn off i tried to turn it on it would show the samsung logo and just right away turn back off i tried to hard reset no use because it would shut right back off the repair man tried to do a software update say it would reach a certain amount and stop.. I really would like any information this repair guy says its a problem with the hard drive being burnt but it wouldn’t necessarily even show the battery signal if it was burnt. What do you think the issue is…? Thank you.
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to replace the battery with a new one. This allows you to check if the current battery your phone is using is causing this problem. Make sure that the new battery is charged before inserting it in your phone.
You should also check if you are able to start your phone in recovery mode. If you can access this mode then the problem could be caused by a corrupt software. I suggest you do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding.
Note 4 Only Turns On When Plugged
Problem: I was listening to Pandora, and it was acting up, and not playing properly. Suddenly it shut off, and would not restart. It would turn on, give the samsung banner, and then the blue and white planet and then it shuts off and starts over. The only way to get this continuous restarting to stop is to take out the battery or plug it in. Even if it shows 100% charged. It will usually turn on, and even let me use it as long as it is plugged in, but the moment I unplug it, it shuts off. I cannot turn it on.
Solution: The problem could either be caused by a faulty/ weak battery or a corrupt phone software. Try replacing the phone battery first and see if this fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
