Note 4 Apps Freezing
Problem: after update to 6.0.1, battery drain very quickly, some the app will freeze after on and phone become very lag, when on the spotify, music become like lag and can’t run it smooth. especially my phone temperature become very hot, none of these happen before update to 6.0.1. how can i solve it ? my phone just 14 months old . and it will restart automatically when app not running smooth and freeze. you get what i try to mean?
Solution: These issues usually occur whenever a phone gets a new software update, especially if it is a major software update. What you will want to do first in this case is to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Error 505 When Downloading Facebook App
Problem: Getting error 505 after facebook downloads and tries to install. Got the error yesterday when opening facebook. maybe it had updated or tried to?? uninstalled and now can’t reinstall. can’t clear data because app not installed. also uninstalled messenger and cleared its data since it might be sharing data with facebook?? still can’t install facebook. thanks.
Solution: This issue is usually caused by incompatibility issues between the phone software and the app itself. If you haven’t checked your phone for any new software updates then I suggest you do so now. It’s best if you update your device to Marshmallow. Once your phone is running on the latest software version try to check if the same issue still occurs.
If the problem still occurs then go to the Application Manager on your phone settings. Search for the app called Google Services Framework and Google Play Store and clear the cache and data of both apps. Once this is done you need to check again if the issue still occurs.
If you still experience the same issue then perform the steps listed below. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Authentication Error When Setting Up Gmail Account On Stock Email App
Problem: The original email app doesn’t allow configuring my Gmail account, replying “authentication error” although it was working fine until few days ago, the parameters are OK and wasn’t change, and my Gmail account is accessible on all other options.
Solution: Some of the common reasons why this issue occurs are as follows,
- Wrong email address and password combination
- Email settings are not correct. Example is using the wrong server and ports.
- You have not enabled IMAP in your Gmail email settings. This can be done by accessing your email from the browser and going to the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab on the email Settings.
- Account is not authenticated by Google
- Two step verification is active.
Once you have made sure that your email address and password combination is correct the next thing you need to do is to make sure that the server and port number is correct. For server this should be imap.gmail.com while port number should be 993.
If the issue still occurs try clearing the cache and data of the stock email app then setup the email again.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 App From Play Store Randomly Pops Up To Be Installed
Problem: An app from the play store will just randomly pop up for me to install. It’s no particular app. Its many different apps. It can be as soon as i unlock my screen or when i’m in the middle of an email or facebook.
Solution: The problem could be caused by an app you installed in your device. To check if this is the case try to start your phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely that an app you installed is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the same problem occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data and do a factory reset as this could be caused by some form of adware that is installed in your device.
Note 4 Lag In Netflix App
Problem: While watching Netflix every few minutes. The screen seems to lag just for a second but it’s there. I’ve seen message boards regarding the issue but nothing seems to help. My fiance is having the same problem but not as frequently. The sound stays in sync but the lag is there. Is there anything I can do to avoid this happening.
Solution: There are instances when the lag is caused by the app itself, especially if this problem occurs only on the Netflix app. Try to clear the cache and data of the app then check if the same problem still occurs. If it does then uninstall the app and download an updated version from the Google Play Store.
Note 4 App Opens After Being Updated By The Google Play Store
Problem: Hi Guys, I have my Google Apps set to “automatically update”, although I believe this issue exists in Manual mode as well. Every time one of my Apps updates, it proceeds to open on my phone. Even though I do not open the Application myself. Previously my Apps would simply update & move on to the next update. Why is each update triggering the App to open? Thanks for your help.
Solution: This could be caused by a bug in the Google Play Store. Try uninstalling the update to the Google Play Store app then check if the same issue still occurs. You should also follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
If the issue still occurs then the problem could be caused by a third party app installed in your phone. Try to check if the same issue occurs even in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. Try to start with apps that let you earn rewards points as this is usually what causes this issue.
If the issue remains unresolved at this point then you should consider doing a factory reset. Take note that you should backup your phone data before performing this step.
Note 4 Turns Off when Using Certain Apps
Problem: While using certain apps my phone shuts completely off, restarts, or drains my entire battery! Its could be at 90% and if I open the app it’ll drain it down to 4% or lower.
Solution: It’s possible that this could be caused by a faulty battery or some issues with the phone software. You can start the troubleshooting by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to get a new battery.
