The #OnePlus3 finally went official yesterday. Many have already touted this to be an industry-changing device, thanks to the hardware specs and the pricing combination. The manufacturer is making the device available in a 64GB storage + 6GB RAM model, which comes with a price tag of just $399. That’s pretty fantastic given the pricing of other competitive flagships in the market today.
So what else are you getting for $399? Well, the OnePlus 3 comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, a quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel front camera, 64GB of non-expandable storage, 6GB of RAM, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and a 3,000 mAh battery. It has a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint scanner as well. The device will be available in Graphite and Soft Gold color variants.
While many might frown over the absence of a Quad HD display, OnePlus seems to be unflustered by this fact. One big plus here is that OnePlus has upgraded the display technology to Super AMOLED from LCD.
The pricing will be $399 in the U.S., €399 across Europe and £309 in the UK. This means the company is pretty consistent with the pricing across the globe. OnePlus is also offering accidental damage protection for the OnePlus 3 and has split it into three tiers – On-Guard 12 ($20), On-Guard Plus 18 ($65) and On-Guard Plus 24 ($80) for one-year, 18 months and 2-years respectively. On-Guard 12 doesn’t cover accidental damage and merely covers device breakdown post the warranty period.
