S6 Apps Not Working Properly After Marshmallow Update
Problem: After the marshmallow update, some apps are not working properly. Spotify stops playing mid-song. Notifications no longer show for whatsapp and hangouts messages.. the app must be opened to show messages that were sent hours ago. There are no connection problems as this happens for both wifi and using data. Also was never a problem before the update. Ive checked all settings for the apps already Please help!
Solution: This is a common issue that we have been receiving from several of our readers. The best thing to do in this case is to check if there are any new updates for the apps in your phone. To do this just open the Google Play Store then tap on the My Apps & Games section. From here you will be notified if an app needs updating.
If your apps are updated and the problem still occurs then we can now assume that the issue is caused by the update itself. One likely reason behind this is that the data from the old software version has not been completely removed from your device. This data is now causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this problem. To resolve this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S6 Lag In Texting After Marshmallow Update
Problem: After updating the phone’s system to Marshmallow I have had continuous issues with streaming music however; I have also had issues with the phone responding to commands. One command in particular is when I try to text someone, the phone is very slow in responding and will not bring up the keyboard for many seconds. Or when I am typing a text it lags and then the keys I selected on the keyboard are expanded on the screen but wont display what I wrote in the text box. I have to retype the word or sentence and wait for it to display before I send the message.
Solution: When experiencing lag issues right after a software update the first thing that you need to do is to wipe the cache partition of your device from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary data in your phone which could be causing the problem. Restart your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I highly recommend that you do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this procedure.
S6 Can’t Use Wi-Fi Calling After Marshmallow Update
Problem: I don’t have great mobile connectivity at home and rely on wi-fi calling. After the marshmallow update when I get home (in wifi range) my wifi calling doesn’t connect consistently even though my phone is connected to wifi. When I check the call settings wifi preferred is enabled and on, however all options are greyed out and wifi calling says “enabling” it will do this for hours. Once it does connect it doesn’t stay connected.
Solution: Try deleting the Wi-Fi connection from your phone. Restart the phone then add the Wi-Fi connection again. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does you will need to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode to delete the temporary data of your device. Once this is done check if the problem still remains. If it does then your last option is to do a factory reset.Take note that you need to backup your phone data before doing this.
S6 Keyboard Shows Up On Lock Screen After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Hello, i not to long ago updated my galaxy s6 to the 6.0.1 os and my main concern with it right now it the keyboard shows up on my lock screen if i lock the phone from the messages app. if i back out of the app and then lock the phone it does not show up, i can type anything from the lock screen when this happens and when i unlock the phone it shows up as a text, so i’m wondering how to fix this problem as easily as possible because it is a little annoying having a keyboard on your lock screen ,i have also scoured the interwebs for anything to help with this and i don’t see anyone else whos has had this problem, i have also searched threw my phone settings and everything but nothing. so i thank you in advance if you have any advice or other tips that could solve this.
Solution: It’s very likely that this could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. Since his occurred right after a software update the quickest way to deal with this issue is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the issue still occurs.
S6 Can’t Download Apps Over AT&T U-verse Wi-Fi
Problem: After the Samsung Update installed on my phone at the beginning of April, Google Play services, Play Store and downloading any apps from it over my ATT Uverse wifi has not been working. It works over mobile data and other wifi networks but not my ATT uverse network at home. I tried stopping Play Store, clearing cache, and even did a factory reset and nothing seems to help. Please help. Is the issue my phone or the wifi? My husband has an S5 and has had no issues with it.
Solution: Since the does not occur when your phone is connected to other Wi-Fi networks or even a mobile data connection then the problem is most likely with the AT&T U-verse Wi-Fi. You need to contact AT&T regarding this matter. You should also try rebooting the router and see if this helps.
