Note 4 Freezes Occasionally
Problem: After updating to Android 6.0.1, my device has become very slow and lags very frequently. The device will freeze occasionally forcing me to do a hard reset. When booting the device sometimes goes into a mode where the screen says downloading. I have tried factory reset twice, and wiped the cache partition several times. None of these steps have solved the issue. Any help you can offer will be extremely appreciated.
Solution: Generally, when your phone freezes or operates slowly right after a software update the best thing to do is a factory reset. The reason behind this is that your device could still have some old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This is then causing a conflict with the new software version which results in this issue. I suggest you backup your phone data first before doing the factory reset.
Note 4 Lags A Lot
Problem: Hello! Recently, my note4 started to lag a lot. I thought it was a storage issue as i was running out of storage. I deleted a few apps and cleared my cache by downloading Cache cleaner. Using the phone got smoother for a few seconds and it started to lag again. Soon after, my batteries got very hot and it started to self shut down. After a day, i found my phone stuck at the samsung loading screen and it has been like that till now. Do you know what’s wrong with it ? Thanks ! Best Regards!
Solution: Since this issue started with your phone lagging and now has progressed to the phone stuck in the Samsung logo screen then there’s a big possibility that this is caused by a glitch in the phone software. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this issue. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.
- Remove the phone battery and microSD card ( if one is installed) Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone.
- Try to turn on your phone with the charger connected. If it turns on then this could issue could be caused by a faulty battery. Get a new battery then check if the issue still occurs.
- Start the phone in recovery mode. Wipe its cache partition.
- Start the phone in recovery mode. Do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to do this if you have a backup copy of your data.
If the issue still occurs at this point then you should consider flashing your phone with its stock firmware. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Stuck In Boot Loop
Problem: Hi my issue is with the note 4. My phone will turn on but only go to the Samsung boot up screen then turns off and then back on to that same screen, over and over. I factory rest it by the external buttons. It seemed to work, when I was setting it up it froze then started over again with turning on and only goes to the first boot up screen. Now it has a black screen and only the LED light is lit blue. It’s not responding when any button is pushed now. And the last time I reset the phone it started to vibrate and didn’t stop until I took the battery out.
Solution: Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to do for issues such as this. Perform one step then move to the next if the issue still persists.
- Remove the battery and microSD card. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert just the battery. Check if the issue still occurs.
- Connect your phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Turn on the phone. If it turns on then you should try using a new battery as the one your phone has could be defective.
- Check if you are able to access the recovery mode. If you are then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy first.
- One last option you should consider is to flash your phone with its stock firmware. Detailed instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 4 Freezes
Problem: Phone freezes “n” number of times… even when unlocking the phone using swipe unlock feature. I try to do anything and it just freezes for a minute or two, then restarts itself and this restarting problem even happens when I’m on call. And when it restarts, it heats like hell! Plz Help
Solution: In this case where your phone freezes a lot I would suggest that you try to wipe the cache partition of your device from the recovery mode first. This will delete the temporary data in your phone which could be causing the problem. If the issue still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Crashes Constantly After Marshmallow Update
Problem: My Note 4 often crashes on me, the phone just switches off automatically and it’s happening quite often these days. This issue has been ongoing ever since I had a software upgrade and change of battery. I’m not sure what’s the issue. I have tried clearing partition cache, apps cache reset and also reset factory settings but the issue still persist. I have to remove battery and restart phone each time this happens. Kindly assist me please.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try taking it out as this could be the reason why your phone is crashing. You should also check if the battery is causing this issue by using your old battery or by checking if the problem occurs even when your phone is connected to its wall charger.
Since you already performed a factory reset which doesn’t seem to help you should consider flashing your phone with the previous stock firmware version.
