Google Home voice assistant announced, looks set to take on the Amazon Echo

Google Home

As many rumors had predicted, Google’s Amazon Echo competitor is finally here and well equipped to take on anything in its path. The device looks pretty modest from the outside, as you would expect from an offering of this stature. This is running the new Google Assistant operating system, meant specifically for a home-assistant device.

Google Home is ever listening to your commands and also comes with the ability to pair with most items in your home, including lights, compatible HDTVs and more. The video demonstration below will give you a better idea of how Google Home exactly works.

It’s quite a significant development for Google and will probably give Amazon’s Alexa a run for its money given how there aren’t many smart home assistants out there. If you’re interested in knowing how much this costs or where you can buy it, sadly you will have to wait slightly longer as Google hasn’t divulged that information as of yet. But when that knowledge is shared with us, we’ll make sure you’re the first to know.
