S6 Keeps Disconnecting From The Internet

Problem: It keeps disconnecting from the internet both WIFI and 4g. It will work for a minute or two the disconnect and then maybe 5 minutes later reconnect. When I manually turn off and turn the wifi on it will connect straight away and work but then will disconnect after a minute again. I tried resetting network setting and that didn’t work. I can’t stream from spotify because after a minute it will say no internet connection. Definitely not an internet issue.

Solution: If your are sure that this isn’t an Internet connection issue then this is most likely a phone problem since it occurs when connected to either a Wi-Fi network or a mobile data network. The most probable cause of this is a corrupt data, conflict with an ap, or the glitch in the phone software itself. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to resolve this problem. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If the issue is caused by some form of corrupt temporary data then this step helps a lot.
  • Start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Try connecting to the Internet in this mode. If the issue does not occur then an app you downloaded could be causing the issue. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Cannot Connect To Wi-Fi Network

Problem: My brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 cannot connect to my house wifi network. This problem occurs only at my house. I can connect to other wifis easily without problem. I have tried almost everything except reseting my router. I have rebooted phone and router several times, forget network, and all the suggestions that I read online. Any ideas?

Solution: It looks like the issue is with the router and not the phone. Can other devices connect to your home router? Try to access the administration panel of the router and check if any security settings are enabled that may prevent your phone from connecting. You should also try to change the Wi-Fi security ( try switching between WPA, WPA2, WEP, Disabled) and check if your phone connects to a particular wireless security setting.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then you should consider resetting your router.

S6 No Connection Error

Problem: Constantly getting messages saying no internet connection for a second. Almost like the connectivity keeps going in and out. I have Verizon do this has never been an issue. Not sure if this is what’s causing my music apps to not stream consistently. Pandora, iheart and spotify will all work but just randomly stop after 2-3 songs. The app doesn’t shut down, just stops playing. As soon as it’s opened from my menu, it automatically starts playing again. Have already uninstalled these apps and tried reinstalling to no avail.

Solution: Does this issue happen even if your phone is connected to other Wi-Fi networks? Try checking if this is the case. If the issue occurs only on one particular connection then the issue might not be phone related. If the problem persists even when your phone is connected to different Wi-Fi networks or to your mobile data network then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step should the issue still occur.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This takes out the temporary data in your device, which if corrupt has been known to cause all sorts of issues on the device.
  • Delete the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then add it again. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start your phone in Safe Mode. Check if the problem occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Apps Not Working On Wi-Fi

Problem: Multiple apps will not work with wifi but work perfect with data. These include the play store, YouTube, twitter, etc. Also my Gmail accounts won’t sync. I have tried different troubleshooting techniques but I keep getting “sync is experiencing some problem, it will be back in a while”.

Solution: You need to check first if this issue occurs in only one particular Wi-Fi network. Try connecting your phone to another Wi-Fi network and see if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be with the router you are connecting to. You should troubleshoot this router or if you don’t have access to this router have the administrator check it.

In case the issue still occurs even if your phone is connected to other Wi-Fi networks then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Delete the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then add it again. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start your phone in Safe Mode. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Does Not Sync To Home Wi-Fi

Problem: My device will not sync when connected to my home WiFi. Using mobile data or any other WiFi, I get all emails and notifications, but I get no notifications when connected to my home network. My wife has a GS6, and is having the same issue after the marshmallow update

Solution: Since this issue occurs when your phone is connected to different Wi-Fi networks and even when using your mobile data subscription then this is already a phone related issue. You mentioned that this occurred right after the Marshmallow update. Whenever a phone undergoes a major software update there are issues that usually occur right after. To resolve this problem you need to try to wipe the cache partition of the device from the recovery mode first. If this doesn’t fix the problem then you should proceed with a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in this process so make sure to make a backup copy first.

S6 No Internet Connection Issue After Marshmallow Update

Problem: After marshmallow update on my galaxy s6, when calling via  facebook messenger, whatsapp, hangouts and skype call will drop after 10 seconds with the reason “no internet connection” however internet connection via wifi and mobile data is fine as from my laptop all applications are working fine at the same time. Please help as I am unable to make calls from these applications.

Solution: One of the most common issues that can occur right after a software update concerns the Internet connection. In this case what you should do first is to update all of your phone apps. You can do this by going to the Google Play Store then clicking on the “My Apps & Games” section. Here you will be able to check which apps need updating. Do the necessary updates for the apps.

Once you have made sure that your aps are updated check if the issue still occurs. If it does then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
