S5 Unfortunately, Samsung Accessory Service Has Stopped

Problem: I downloaded a system update the other day and now whenever I click a video or open an app, I get the error message “Unfortunately, Samsung Accessory Service has stopped. This also happens when I change the volume. The app market says my phone is not compatible with Samsung accessory service and I don’t have anything by that name on my phone. I tried resetting it and removing recently added apps, to no avail. This message pops up 2 or 3 times at a time. Thanks.

Solution: Do you have the Samsung Gear app installed in your phone? If you do try to disable this app then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then you need to uninstall the updates to this app then update it again. If the issue still occurs even if the Samsung Gear app is disabled then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Clear the cache and data of the Samsung Accessory Service App from the application manager.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S5 TypeApp Mail Uses Too Much Storage Space

Problem: I noticed when I looked under my settings in management that TypeApp mail has half of a gigabyte in data stored on my phone. Is there some way I can send some of this to my SD card without losing my present emails? In other words I wouldn’t mind transferring over emails that are over two months old but not the ones that are presently of importance. Please help thank you

Solution: You can try to check if this is possible by going to the application manager of your device then clicking on TypeApp mail. If the option for “ move to SD card” is not greyed out then you will be able to free up some internal storage space by moving the data of the app to the microSD card.

S5 Can’t Download App From Google Play Store After Update

Problem: Over the weekend I downloaded the most current update to my phone.  Now when I go into the playstore to download an app (ANY app) I get an error  that says it can’t be downloaded. Try again and if it continues bla blah blah error retrieving from server and then a code that starts out in the above letters.   I have removed the battery with the hope of a reset but nothing has worked.  Any suggestions? Thanks

Related Problem: Hi, since some time when I update apps at the Google store they just don’t update. Not always the same apps, after some days it might work… What can I do? Restarted the phone, stopped the Google play store app, started again….

Solution: Listed below are the steps that you should perform to resolve this problem. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.  Before proceeding with the steps listed below make sure that your phone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. If possible try using different Wi-Fi networks to check if the problem is connection related.

  • Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Store app.
  • Uninstall the Google Play Store updates
  • Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Services
  • Update Google Play Services
  • Remove the Google account from your phone. Restart the device then add your account.
  • Check if the download manager app in your application manager is disabled. If it is then enable it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S5 Error Code 505 When Installing Facebook

Problem: Cannot install Facebook. The program downloads but during install I keep getting error code 505.  I have plenty of unused space and I even uninstalled my avg and other anti virus programs.

Solution: This error code means that there is some software incompatibility somewhere. To resolve this issue perform the troubleshooting steps listed below. Move To the next step if the issue still occurs.

  • Clear the cache and data of the Google Framework Services app from the application manager.
  • Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Store.
  • Remove the Google account from your phone. Restart the phone then add your account back.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
