Note 5 Does Not Stay Connected To Wi-Fi

Problem: I recently updated my note 5 to marshmallow. Now i find a problem with my wifi. It doesn’t stay connected to any wifi for longer. It is showing no internet connection. Then i have to forget and reconnect. Still after doing that, when the phone is getting locked and then again the wifi is lost. I have contacted with the network provider and they say nothing is wrong with the router. And all the other devices are getting connected and have no problem. What is the solution for this? Please help..!

Solution: This issue could be caused by the recent Marshmallow update that you did. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode first then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I highly recommend that you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. This usually resolves issues that occur right after an update.

Note 5 No Connection When Connected To Wi-Fi

Problem: Recently installed Marshmallow of error note 5 and experience a problem with the default browser as follow: When I turn on the WiFi and  open the browser, it  shows directly  a message ” no connection and mobile data is turned off” then the browser works fine and can navigate, but the WiFi is working fine, when I close the browser by clicking the back button the browser shows the same connection pop error message . I cleared the browser  cache, forget my network and add it from scratch, reset the network setting but still I face the same. Please advice if you have any solution.

Solution: This is a similar issue to the one we addressed above and could be caused by the Marshmallow update. The same troubleshooting step will apply. You need to wipe the cache partition of your phone first from the recovery mode. If that does not resolve the issue then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 Apps Not Connected To Internet

Problem: Some of the apps on my phone like google play and Facebook say that I do not have Internet when on WiFi or mobile data.  It has a trouble downloading files or music for Google play. I don’t receive messages like I should.

Related Problem: After updated to Marshmallow, i keep getting “unable to connect to internet” when on wifi or lte, while using google play music. I have cleared cache and reset the app.

Solution: Connectivity related problems are common for devices that have upgraded to Marshmallow. In this case what you need to do first is to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will take out the temporary data in your device that could be causing the problem. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Reset the network settings of your device.
  • Check the APN settings of your phone. Make sure it matches the settings used by your carrier.
  • Delete the Wi-Fi connections from your phone. Add it again.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 5 Delayed Notification From Apps

Problem: I downloaded the most recent marshmallow update for my Note 5 and I immediately experienced technical difficulties. I would receive notifications from social media such as Tumblr and Kik hours later they had been sent. When I went on the actual application, I would immediately get the message without the notification. I’ve already tried disconnecting and reconnecting my networks (internet and Bluetooth), but I’m still experiencing the same problem. Any help is appreciated.

Solution: Try checking if there are any new updates available for the affected apps. If the apps are updated then try to uninstall them then install a fresh version from the Google Play Store.

If the issue still occurs then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
