Some people however are having problems with this update. Note 5 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi After Marshmallow Update
Problem: I am so damn Angry!!!!!! After marshmallow update.. I get no WIFi in my house, in my job, any free WiFi localities.. This is so upsetting I JUST got the damn thing and now 7 is out and I am stuck with this crap ass phone I had to pay 400 bucks for!!!! Shame on you Samsung now in order and hope that if I erase me phone with a hard reset IT SHOULD work.. I hate you, I used to love you like really love Samsung devices from day one.. And ow my blood is boiling!!!!
Related Problem: After Marshmallow update my phone does not connect to my Wi-Fi. I have restarted the phone and other devices work fine on the Wi-Fi. My main issue is the internet, it continues to say check network connection though settings states I have strong signal and my husband’s note 5, which hasn’t updated, works great.
Related Problem: Once I installed the new ‘M’ on my Verizon Note 5, I couldn’t open apps on WiFi. Had to use mobile data. Reset my phone, hard boot, network reset. Nothing worked. After my 3rd phone, I haven’t done the update. Phone works fine on WiFi.
Solution: Sometime after a software update issues do occur on a device. One such issues which is common is the phone not connecting to a Wi-Fi network. Below are the recommended steps that you should do when this happens in your device. Try to do one step then move to the next if the issue remains unresolved.
- Toggle airplane mode. To do this just turn it on then after a few seconds turn it off.
- Reset your network settings. To do this go to Settings – Backup and reset – Network settings reset – Reset settings.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Music Apps Not Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Ever since the newest update none of my music applications work correctly. I will start a song and anywhere from 30 seconds to maybe a few minutes after the screen turns off the music will stop. I will then have to turn back on my screen and it will start streaming again. I’ve tried listening on and off WiFi. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of the apps and it is still happening. Soundcloud, Digitally Imported, Pandora, and Amazon Music. The only music that will continuously play is my download music through the phone’s stock music player.
Solution: Try checking of this is a connection related issue. The phone may turn off your Wi-Fi connection when the phone sleeps to conserve battery life. Under Wi-Fi settings make sure that the option to “Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep” is set to always. Under the Battery setting you should also make sure that the Battery Saver feature is off. You should also go to Settings – Apps – Configuration/Settings Button – Battery Optimization – Change the setting to “all apps”. Find “Google Connectivity Services” – then change it to not optimized.
Note 5 Air Command Not Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: After giving my device an official marshmallow update, the air command stopped working from then. There is no response whenever I am ejecting the s-pen. Tried doing many things but just can’t fix it. Please if you can help me with this.
Solution: Have you checked the S Pen setting of your phone? Go to Go to Settings > Device > S Pen. Check the detachment options and make sure that Air Command or Action Memo is set instead of none.
If the problem still persists even with the right setting then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Live Weather Wallpaper Not Working After Marshmallow Update
Problem: After update to marshmallow the live weather wallpaper no longer works. It says the wallpaper isn’t compatible with this version of Android!
Solution: You should check if an update is available for the Live Weather wallpaper app. Instal the update if there is one.
Another troubleshooting step that you should consider is a factory reset. This is usually done whenever problems occur after an update as it will effectively remove any old software data in the device. This old software data which has been left behind is usually the culprit in cases such as this. Just make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.
