Note 5 Marshmallow Update Charger Notification Even If Not Charged
Problem: Just recently installed the new update the marshmallow one. All the sudden two days later my phone is continuously making the chirp like it does when you connect to charger. But it’s not being plugged in at all. I have half battery life and it will sometimes have pop up telling me something about the charger, but like I said it happens when it’s not connected to any charger. I turned off the chirp noise in my settings but it still lights my screen up makes a little bubble like thing done towards the bottom of the screen and shows the quick pop up about the charger issue. Help me fix it please.
Solution: If this issue occurs even if the phone is not connected to any charger then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below. Move to the next step if the issue still occurs.
- Clean the phone charging port using a can of compressed air or cotton bud
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This will delete the temporary data in the device which could be causing the problem.
- Backup your phone data and do a factory reset. This is a highly recommended step especially if issues occur right after a software update.
Note 5 Gallery Keeps Shutting Down After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Ever since I updated to Marshmallow, my gallery doesn’t work. It keeps shutting it down. I called Verizon and after nothing working including backing up my content and doing a factory reset, the next option is being sent a new phone. I don’t care for a refurbished phone just yet. My VM was acting up and found out that my power save has to be turned off until a patch is sent. Long story short, I’m trying to see if anyone else has had this issue before I accept getting a refurbished phone.
Solution: Have you tried checking if another software update is available for your phone? This update could contain a fix to this issue that you are having. Generally for issues such as this the troubleshooting steps listed below are what you need to do.
- Make sure to update all of the phone apps. To do this open the Google Play Store then under the My Apps & Games section you will see any app that needs to be updated.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by a third party app installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Calendar Storage Has Stopped Error After Marshmallow Update
Problem: downloaded new marshmallow. keep getting this popup ‘unfortunately calendar storage has stopped’. I have cleared the cache and data in this app but still have the problem. I uploaded what I thought was the same google calendar app (no name on the app, came with the phone) but it didn’t overwrite/update the cal app I have on my phone and when I looked at my entries on my calendar they were gone, so I uninstalled the new g calendar app but my appts never came back and I still have the stupid popup. How can I get back my calendar events/appts please?? I don’t think they were backed up.
Solution: Do you have your calendar entries stored in the phone or to your Google account? If it is stored in your Google account then they need to be synced to your device first. What you need to do is to open the Application Manager then clear the cache and data of the Calendar Storage app. Perform the same procedure for the Calendar app. Once this is done you need to resync your Calendar.
Note 5 Can’t Set To Vibrate Or Silent Mode After Marshmallow Update
Problem: I recently updated my note 5 (Verizon wireless) phone and I usually have my phone on either vibrate or silent and before when someone would call me and the call would go missed or i would reject the call or i would finish with the call my volume would stay as I had it either vibrate or in silent mode and today that I did the update I noticed that when someone calls me and I reject the call or they stop calling my phone or i end my call it automatically goes to ringer on all the way up (my ringtone turns on) and is no longer on silent or vibrate mode..and this I don’t like because there’s a reason for me to have my phone on silent or vibrate and I don’t think is fair for this to automatically turn up the ringer on its own when i should be the one who decides if I want it to ring,or be on silent or vibrate mode. Please help me! How can I switch it so it won’t keep turning up when there’s a call?
Solution: Have you tried checking if the priority mode setting of your phone is causing this issue? To check if this is the case just tap on the volume button which should bring up the Priority Mode setting. Try to adjust the different options under this setting.
If the issue is not setting related then this could be caused by a glitch in the phone software. If this is the case then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Locked Out Of Device After Marshmallow Update
Problem: My mother has the Note 5 and ran the marshmallow update for it this morning. Upon completion of the update she is locked out of her phone. She had the pattern lock screen and her pattern keeps reading as incorrect. She also has a backup pin setup which is also showing as incorrect. Please help! She has already had to receive a new phone soon after we bought it due to mechanical issues and has had to do a factory reset. I think if she has to do another one and lose everything she will go crazy! Thanks!
Solution: If you mother has a Google account associated with the phone then she can simply click on forgot password on the phone. Details on how to unlock the device will be sent to the email address associated with the phone.
Another option is to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode however this will delete all data in the device.
