The 2015 #MotoG was fairly impressive as it combined an impressive hardware specs sheet with a decent price tag. We’re now getting word about the 2016 version of the smartphone, courtesy of renowned leakster @evleaks a.k.a. Evan Blass. He has posted an image on Twitter, which seemingly shows the bottom front portion of the smartphone, featuring a hardware key with a likely fingerprint scanner underneath.
While the key itself doesn’t look all that appealing, this gives us an idea about the direction that Motorola is taking with its upcoming devices. With fingerprint scanners becoming commonplace in mid-rangers, it’s only wise of Moto-Lenovo to introduce it in the Moto G as well.
Another question that’s raised is, what happens to the front facing stereo speakers? Well, it seems like Motorola will have to change the arrangement of their iconic speakers a little bit, perhaps by placing them on the bottom rather than the front. The Moto G4 Plus could be scheduled for a mid-2016 release, so we’re still some distance away from its launch.
