While the #HTC10 stands neck-to-neck with most flagships in terms of raw hardware, it was said to be lacking water-resistance, which is an area where the Samsung #GalaxyS7 and the S7 edge have an advantage over the device.
However, HTC’s Jeff Gordon has revealed that the smartphone is in fact water resistant, but not to the extent of the Samsung flagships. In response to a user query, Gordon mentioned that the HTC 10 is IP53 certified, with the last integer suggesting the level of water resistance it offers. It must be noted that the Galaxy S7 comes with IP68 certification, which makes it resistant to splashes, dunks or submersion.
What IP63 means is that the device will come with a relatively lower level of water resistance, with liquid contact limited to the occasional sprays. There’s a high chance that your device might be damaged if you were to splash water on it. So there you have it, folks. The HTC 10 is resistant to water, but not by much.
What do you make of the HTC 10 as a flagship?
