My phone is unlocked but i have a Net 10 SIM in there. It runs well with calls, and the mobile data internet works fast and very well. But when it comes to MMS, it just doesn’t work. For example, if i receive a message as part of a group chat, it comes in as mms. No
w i have to go into the messaging app, open the message and click download, and then it doesnt even download. Either it starts and shows a loading bar then stops, or it does that and then it shows error downloading. on top of that the message size is shown there and they range from just 1kb to 400 kb. Same thing with pictures, it just doesn’t work. I have called my provider and they told me some bs. I have also ensured all the apn settings are what they should be. Only once in while it actually works properly. I downloaded this app called Textra, which seems to run ok in terms of receiving pictures. But even at that i hear complaints from the senders of the pictures. Kind Regards. — Tino
Solution: Hi Tino. If your wireless carrier can’t help you with your MMS issue, neither can we. MMS is handled by your network and the most that a user can do on his/her end is to ensure that the APN settings are correct. The rest of the effort should be provided by the carrier.
Keep in mind that carriers implement their own limitations when it comes to MMS/picture/video size. This limitation varies by carrier so you must work closely with them.
Since Marshmallow downloaded I’ve had nothing but issues.
Photos automatically save to dcim, editing has unnecessary added steps even just to crop a photo, autocorrect isn’t even close, I spend more time correcting the auto correct, any input is lagging whether I’m searching, texting, battery is draining (with no added apps).
Verizon representative didn’t know how to fix. They actually wiped out my Bluetooth and won’t not let me reinstall app.
I went to Best Buy to see their Samsung experts and now all photo albums are gone, I have a dcim with 1899 photos, my docs are now all encrypted.
I was so upset I left, no one knows how to fix. I was told the update was made for newer phones, I just got this Galaxy S6 in Dec 2015.

Solution: Hi Lin. All sorts of problems can potentially happen after a major upgrade. Many variables can result to conflicts with the new operating system that it’s actually impossible to identify where the point of failure/s lie. The thing is, there is no exact way to fix a certain issue. The best that you can do is to hope that wiping the cache partition and doing a factory reset will help solve the problems.
For reference, here are the steps how to wipe the cache partition:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key.
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
- When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
- Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
- Press the Power key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
In order to do a factory reset via Recovery mode, simply follow the same exact steps on how to wipe the cache but instead of selecting “wipe cache partition”, just opt for “wipe data/factory reset”.
Sometimes, an incompatible app can also cause conflicts with a new OS. Make sure that all your third party apps are updated.
Hi. The version listed is : 6.0.1.
My phone was recently updated by Samsung and I have two issues:
# 1: I have an outlook (POP 3) email and before the update I was able to “swipe” to delete the emails; now I have to “Edit, select the box by the email, and select Delete”. Is there a way to go back to swipe?
# 2: This has been an issue since I have had the phone. When I delete emails from Outlook on my phone they DO NOT delete from my desktop. I have the setting Delete email from server “When deleted from Inbox”. Is there a way to have the emails deleted from my desktop when deleted from my phone? I don’t have this issue with my Gmail account. Thanks! Your sight has been very useful in solving other issues. — Diane
Solution: Hi Diane. If you are using the native email app, try swiping to the left to delete an email. If swiping to the left won’t work, try to delete the email app’s cache and data, configure the email, and try again. To wipe the email app’s cache and data, please follow these steps:
- Go to Settings.
- Proceed to Applications.
- Select Manage Applications.
- Tap the All tab.
- Choose the name of the app that has been going rogue.
- Tap Storage.
- From there, you will see the Clear Cache and Clear Data buttons.
Remember, tapping the Clear Data button will virtually re-install the email app so you must configure your email again before you can check it it helps.
For the second issue, the resolution that you need is not selecting “Delete email from server when deleted from Inbox” option but by reconfiguring your account to download only your messages to one device. Your desktop is not the server so the “Delete email from server when deleted from Inbox” option obviously won’t work. The server in this case refers to your email server, not your computer (desktop). We understand what you want but there’s no way automatically delete the copy of your message stored in your desktop once you delete it from your phone. You either have to prefer to download your messages to only one device at a time, or simply leave the situation as is.
If you want to download your message to one device, simply delete your account then select POP3 server type instead of IMAP when re-adding it.
Another frustrated Galaxy S6 Edge user! Got Marshmallow just over a week ago, and life has been hell ever since! Countless hours on the phone with Verizon and Samsung, and nothing’s happening.
The problem appears to be specifically with Wi-Fi, and I think possibly only with Google apps using wi-fi, since my Amazon instant video app works fine. Netflix doesn’t work, Pandora doesn’t work, and Google Photos backup doesn’t work. Downloading apps doesn’t work.
Of course the second I switch wifi off, everything works on 4G, which has immediately drained all of my data usage for this month 🙁
Verizon had me to a million things, including factory reset, resetting network settings, forgetting the Wi-Fi network and manually adding it again, doing everything in safe mode, etc…..

Solution: Hi Shaina. Kindly do another factory reset and observe how Google apps work when you connect to Wi-Fi for 24 hours. Make sure not to install any third party application during this time. If nothing will change during this period, that’s an indication that your carrier’s Marshmallow update is poorly coded. You must wait for them to release a patch to fix the problems.
Hello! First I would like to thank you for giving you the time to read this. I’ve just received a new unlocked Galaxy S6 (running on Android 5.0) bought from eBay. It worked just perfect out of the box, until I installed my chip in. The network connection was very poor, even null at some spots. Even where I got the best reception, the phone calls sounded very bad.
I’ve tried my chip with a different Galaxy S6 at the same spots and got great signal as always. I’ve also tried a different chip on my new S6 with the same awful results. I actually ignore which Android version was originally running on my new S6 since once I started checking the smartphone features out; I agreed to install the Android update. So basically I did not try it with its former operating system… I really hope you can help me with this annoying issue. Thanks!! — Alvaro
Solution: Hi Alvaro. If at least two SIM cards appear to show the same symptoms, then that’s a clear indication that there’s something wrong with your new S6. To see if this is due to a software problem, start with the basics by wiping the cache partition, booting the phone in safe mode, and doing a factory reset.
If you haven’t tried a factory reset on an S6 before, just follow these steps:
- Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
- Press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power keys together.
- When the device powers on and displays ‘Power on logo’, release all keys and the Android icon will appear on the screen.
- Wait until the Android Recovery Screen appears after about 30 seconds.
- Using the Volume Down key, highlight the option, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and press the Power key to select it.
- Press the Volume Down button again until the option ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted and then press the Power key to select it.
- After the reset is complete, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and hit the Power key to restart the phone.
If these software troubleshooting steps won’t help, make sure to have the phone replaced. There must be a hardware error behind the poor signal reception issue. A bad modem or antenna can cause this problem and there’s no way for you to check the current status of these components. Having the phone replaced can make life simpler for you.
I’m having issues connecting to my home wi-fi. My phone has always been able to connect to my home network with no issues. I recently went on a trip to Japan where I was connecting to dozens of different public wi-fi sources (not sure if this changed something in my phone).
When I got back home my phone doesn’t recognize my home network. It doesn’t even show up. Every other device connects to the router with no issues, so it’s not a router issue. I’ve reset the phone multiple times, done the touch connection, and checked the look for wi-fi option to ‘always’.
Literally nothing works, I haven’t installed anything particularly new with my phone, and this can’t be an issue with my router, I was wondering if you know what might be going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. — Will
Solution: Hi Will. To fix this issue, make sure that you do the basics first. Restarting the router can be a good start. Make sure that you completely unplug the router from its power source for at least 30 seconds before reconnecting it. Once you’ve restarted the router, try to connect the phone to your Wi-Fi again.
If that won’t work, be sure to check that your device is permitted to connect to your local network. If you use filters to keep away unauthorized devices, try to check if your S6 is listed among the allowed devices.
If the issue remains, consider wiping the cache partition and doing a factory reset (steps provided above).
