S6 Cannot Text After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Just recently upgraded to the new 6.0.1 marshmallow system. Ever since then on the samsung galaxy s6 – i am able to receive text messages – but not send any messages. Have tried lots of different ways to clear cache, restart phone, take sim card out – done lots of different re sets with the carrier. Nothing seems to work. Have downloaded a third party messages app called messages plus – and that works fine with send and receiving messages. So its def an issue with stock app that samsung provide

Solution: If the third party messaging app works then it’s definitely not an account or network problem. Have you tried checking the message center number that you are using? If this is different from what your carrier is using then you should make the necessary changes in your device.

You should also try starting your phone in Safe Mode then try sending a message in this mode. If you are able to send a message then there could be a third party app installed in your phone that is preventing you from sending a text message. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Another factor you should look into is the messaging app itself. Since you already cleared the cache and data of the app then the next step is to check if you are able to uninstall the update to the stock messaging app. If you are able to do so then try to uninstall it then send a text message.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then you should continue using the third party messaging app in the meantime while waiting for a software update that will fix this problem.

S6 Texting App Slow After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Texting (the app that came standard with the phone) worked perfectly until I did the 6.0.1 upgrade a week or so ago.  Now it’s super slow to respond, sometimes as long as 2 minutes to  type and send a single SMS text.  Those with whom I communicate regularly (and thus have many months of texts on file) are the worst.  Deleting those threads are not an option; I’m required to keep 3 months worth of conversations.  Is there a fix?  Can I “UN” upgrade?  Everything worked great before.

Solution: When a phone gets a software update there usually won’t be any issues afterwards. There are however instances when issues suddenly pop-up. In your case the text messaging slows down. One possible cause for this is a corrupt temporary data in the app itself. Try clearing the cache and data of the app then see if this fixes the problem. You should also wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode to delete the temporary data of the phone system.

Both troubleshooting steps above will not delete any of your text messages.

If the issue still occurs at this point then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data (including your text messages) first using Smart Switch before doing this step.

S6 Unfortunately Messaging Has Stopped Error After Marshmallow Update

Problem: Updated to marshmallow cannot text it gives “unfortunately messaging has stopped ”  when I’m texting certain numbers.  I even text myself and again same message.  Prior to the update I was able to text anyone including messages to myself as reminders and now I’m unable to do so HELP. I’VE ALSO TROUBLE sktr with sprint and SAMSUNG.  THE PROBLEM had been been resolved

Solution: When you get this type of error message the first thing that you should do is to troubleshoot the app itself. To do this try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app. This usually works in this scenario. If you are still having a problem then proceed with wiping the cache and data of your phone from the recovery menu.

If the above steps fail then I recommend you do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this step.

S6 Messenger Has Stopped Error

Problem: Trying to send a new text message, as soon as I click “send” it will come up with the error “messenger has stopped”. Tried to install other messaging apps but problem is the same. It even gets worse with google messenger as I can select the person to send the text to, but doesn’t give me any space where I can actually write the text.

Solution: If the problem occurs with other messaging apps then proceed with troubleshooting the phone software. The first thing to do is to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Stuck In Samsung Logo After Marshmallow Update

Problem: My phone is originally from T Mobile but its connected to Metropcs and I got and i got. T Mobile phone update  so I decided to update it and it said it would take 10 mins and It’s been more than 4 hours and is stuck on Samsung logo screen

Related Problem: I downloaded marshmallow as update was available but now I only get Samsung galaxy s6 android on screen. Have done Power and volume down to turn off but when turn on I get same screen. I can’t do nothing with it. Can you help?

Solution: This problem is usually caused by a glitch in the update process. Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode. Restart your phone  then check if the problem disappears.

If the issue still occurs then I recommend you do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your phone data so make sure to have a backup copy before proceeding with this step.
