S5 Can’t Send Text Message To Other Network

Problem: I factory rest my phone, and yet whenever send text messages it never receive by the recipient party. I have gone to 3 AT&T Store none of those my problem, however, it was tried to text to same network (AT&T) it works, why is it sending text messages to other network does not work, it does not appear whether error or failure. I hope you can help me. Thank you so much

Solution: Since you are able to send a text message without any issues to anyone who belongs to the same network as the one you are using, which is AT&T, then the problem is most likely account related.

The first thing that you should do in this scenario is to try to use a different active AT&T SIM card in your phone. If you are able to send a text message to other networks using this SIM then there’s a possibility that this could be an account or SIM card related issue.

I suggest you have your account checked for provisioning issues or better yet, ask for a replacement SIM card.

S5 Can’t Receive Picture Message From iPhone

Problem: I have a purchased an unlocked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5. I am currently using Straight Talk as my carrier, however when I receive pictures in MMS text from an IPhone I cannot open or download the picture or message.

Solution: Does this issue only occur when receiving picture messages from iPhone users? If it does then this could be an iMessage related problem. This issue usually occurs if your previous phone was an iPhone and you were using iMessage. If this is the case then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

If you still have access to your iPhone

  • Take out the SIM card from your phone and insert it back to the iPhone
  • Make sure that the iPhone has a cellular signal
  • Tap Settings then Messages and turn off iMessage.
  • Tap Settings then FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.

If you don’t have access to your iPhone then proceed to the deregister iMessage webpage.

One other scenario is if you have not used an iPhone previously but this problem occurs. If this is the case then several factors could be causing this problem such as the network, the app used, or even the content that is sent.

Try using a different messaging app ( such as Google Hangouts)  to retrieve the picture message. If this doesn’t work then have the sender edit the picture sent by reducing its file size.

One last troubleshooting step that you can perform before suspecting the network as causing this issue is a factory reset. Take note that you will have to backup your phone data before doing his procedure.

S5 Can’t Send Picture Message

Problem: Good morning, Recently I purchased  unlocked Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5.  I’m using it with T Mobile. I used the APN information you provided to gain access to my Mobile Data but I am unable to send pictures through texts.  Any thoughts.  Thank you so much.

Solution: Try checking first if you are able to access the Internet using your mobile data. Turn off the Wi-Fi switch then turn on your mobile data. Make sure that you are getting a good data signal ( LTE or 3G) Check if you can access Facebook or open a browser and visit any webpage. If you are not able to access the Internet then you have to check the APN settings that you are using.

If you are able to access the Internet then try starting your phone in Safe Mode. Once the phone is in Safe Mode make sure that the data switch is on. Try sending a picture message while the phone is in this mode. Make sure that the picture message does not exceed 1MB. If your message is more than 1MB then it will not send. If you are able to send then the problem could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

S5 Text Messages Not Appearing

Problem: I got a new Galaxy s5 off Amazon and put my SIM card from my iPhone to the s5. My sister aND mom have done the same thing and have had no problems. It’s worked great for a week and a half now my messages will send and receive but will not show up in the feed. I had taken my SIM card out, put it back in my iphone to save something, then put it back two times and now the second time messed my s5 up. Some apps work and some don’t. Apps like snapchat and kik work but facebook and Google don’t work. I hope this makes sense. Please help. Thank you.

Solution: If the issue only occurred after more than a week of using the phone then this could be caused by an app or data issue. Before doing any troubleshooting make sure to backup your phone data first.

To fix the problem try starting your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. This will delete the temporary data stored in your device. Restart your phone then go to the application manager. From here you need to clear the cache and data of the messaging app. Check if the issue still occurs.

Another factor that could cause this problem is a third party app installed in your phone. To check if this is the case just start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check if you can now see the message feeds. Check also if the other issues disappear. If you don’t experience any issue in this mode then an app you installed in your phone could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I highly recommend that you do a factory reset.

S5 Not Receiving Text Message From iPhone Users

Problem: I recently swapped from an iphone 4s to this samsung galaxy s5 now I don’t receive texts or calls from some (but not all) of my contacts with iphones  my contacts show me the texts they have sent  but i’ve never received them  however other contacts with iphones successfully send txts and i do receive them  why is this  can it be fixed   i’m bothered now that some business contacts may not be connecting

Solution: The reason why this is happening is because of an issue with iMessage. Since you previously used an iPhone then the text message you receive from iPhone users are being sent as an iMessage. Since you are now using an Android device the iMessage won’t be received by you.

Here’s what you need to do to fix this problem.

  • If you have your old iPhone then re-insert your SIM to the phone.
  • Tap Settings then Messages and turn off iMessage.
  • Tap Settings then FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.

If you don’t have access to your iPhone anymore then you should go to the Apple website then deregister from the iMessage service.

S5 Not Receiving Text Messages

Problem: I can send text messages and people receive them, but i am not receiving text messages of any kind on my phone from other people. I just bought the phone yesterday.

Solution: Are you using any third party messaging app? If you are then try uninstalling it first as this may be causing the issue. You should also clear the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager. Try sending yourself a text message after this.

Sometimes, an app you installed in your phone can cause this issue. To check if this is the case start your phone in Safe Mode. If you are able to receive a text message in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

One last troubleshooting step that you can perform on the phone is a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you contact your network and have them check if any account related issue is causing this problem.
