The #HTCVive headset went up for pre-order earlier today, but customers found that it was selling rather quickly as the company has announced that over 15,000 units of the headset were sold in just 10 minutes. The shipping date for the headset now stands at May, up from April. The company hasn’t given out the reasons for this delay as of yet.
The Vive VR is priced at $799, which makes this a fascinating feat for the company, especially considering how VR headsets are not exactly meant for everybody right now. Also, the Vive VR is only compatible with PCs at the moment, more specifically, those with Intel Core i5-4590 or higher, AMD FX 8350 GPU/NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970/AMD R9 290 and at least 4GB of RAM.
But this hasn’t stopped fans from flocking the HTC site to order the Vive VR headset. The figures were confirmed by HTC chairwoman Cher Wang as well, so this seems like a pretty exciting time for HTC fans right now.
