With the #LGG5 expected to be revealed this Sunday, we’re getting confirmation on the chipset that it’s running underneath, courtesy of suppliers #Qualcomm. Confirming what most media outlets had reported, Qualcomm has mentioned that the LG G5 will be packing the Snapdragon 820 quad core SoC on board. The chip maker gave away the information via Twitter.
This chipset is set to become an industry standard this year with most major manufacturers expected to use the chip for their flagships. Samsung is also said to be using the Snapdragon 820 for its Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge flagships.
We saw LG recently revealing a flip cover that’s meant for the LG G5, while the company also confirmed that the handset would be packing an always-on display, which will be crucial in providing crucial notifications to the users without having to turn on the display. A separate leak gave us a comprehensive look of the device, revealing the dual cameras on the back as well. So we have a good idea of what to expect from the device.
With manufacturers trying to innovate in terms of technology, it’s good to know that there will be a level playing field as far as the CPU is concerned.
