Motorola’s Droid phones usually get updates slower than their non-Droid Motorola counterparts, and being on Verizon is part of that reason. The Droid Turbo 2 is very similar to the current Moto X, so it was probably Verizon that held up the update to make sure it would work. But starting now, the Droid Turbo 2 is getting its Android Marshmallow update.
Since its Android Marshmallow, you will get a lot of new features with the update. Most likely you know some of the features included, but Verizon has outlined some of the most prominent ones on their own page:
- App permissions
- App Standby
- Attentive Display now part of Moto Actions
- Do not disturb mode
- Do not disturb integrated with Assist
- Doze mode
- Direct Share
- Expandable storage (adoptable)
- Expanded volume controls
- Now on Tap
You will need to on a Wifi network to download the update, as it is pretty large in size. If you don’t see the update immediately, Verizon is probably rolling it out in waves, so you should see it over the next few days or weeks. Are any of you Droid Turbo 2 users who are excited about getting Marshmallow?
