Xiaomi starts teasing the Redmi 3 smartphone with a 4,100 mAh battery

The #RedmiNote3 (pictured above) was unveiled a couple of months ago by #Xiaomi. The company is now teasing the imminent release of the #Redmi 3 smartphone, successor to the budget ranged #Redmi2 that was released in the second half of 2015. The company has already given hints that the device will be officially unveiled on the 12th of January, along with an attractive specs sheet on board.

The company has also started teasing that the device would be sporting a 4,100 mAh battery on board, which should make it an attractive low cost offering. The smartphone has already made its way to Chinese certification sites, giving us detailed information about the hardware specs.

The Redmi 3 should be packing a 5 inch 720p display, an octa core MediaTek made chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (expandable), a 13-megapixel camera on the back and Android 5.1 Lollipop. With launch expected to commence this Tuesday, we should have more information on the device in due time.
