Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Not Connecting To The Internet Issue

S6 Edge Not Connecting To The Internet

Problem: Since I have it my galaxy s6 edge does not connect to the home wifi, but only that one, it does connect to other wifi connections. My other cellphone and laptops do connect with no problem. I only get an H sometimes with a plus sign or not, and the up and down arrows light up sometimes but there is nothing more. I hope you can help me and that is only a tech thing that I can’t figure out on my own. I finally decided to change from iphone to Samsung and I’m hating this problem. I already tried to clear the cache but it didn’t fix it. Thank you

Solution: Sometimes a glitch in the phone software can prevent it from connecting to your own Wi-Fi network. Clearing the cache in one way of resolving this issue which however does not work. What you need to do right now, since we already know that the Wi-Fi source is working properly ( other devices can connect to it) is to delete the Wi-Fi connection from your phone. Just go the Wi-Fi settings of your device and search for the network name. Long press on the network name and click on forget network.  Restart your phone and your wireless router. Once this is done scan for the network again and connect to it. You may need to enter the network password if the connection is secured.

If the issue still remains then try to check if an app installed in your phone is causing this problem. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled and prevented from running. If you can connect to the Wi-Fi network in this mode then the issue could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Not Connecting To The Network

Problem: I am having a challenge with my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. It had network the whole day and after charging it when the battery was empty it the failed to connect to the network. I tried removing the sim and putting it back and it never connected. I went on  to switch it on and off and nothing changed. Tried even putting it in flight mode and disabling but there was no any change. Finally I had to dial *#06# and I realised the following IMEI 350000000000006/1. That IMEI showed on my screen. To my surprise the IMEI on my phone covers is IMEI (DELETED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES). I further tried to run the software update using WIFI but it could  not update. The network bars are full.

Solution: It’s very likely that the EFS folder of your phone had become corrupt. This folder contains the baseband version and IMEI information which is needed for your phone to communicate with the network. This EFS folder rarely gets corrupt however it can occur if you install a custom ROM on your phone.

To resolve this problem you will need to flash the stock firmware back to your phone.You will need a copy of the stock firmware file as well as the latest version of Odin running in your computer. Instructions on how to flash your phone can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

S6 Edge Loses Internet Access When Calling

Problem: Having problems surfing Internet while phone is in use..as soon as I dial a number my phone signal is dropped from 3 and 4G to 1x and phone looses Internet access and no longer let’s me surf Internet while phone calls are in process…once phone disconnects signal comes back..3 and 4g.

Solution: Have you tried checking if this issue occurs with different network modes? Go to your phone’s mobile network settings then try to check if the issue occurs when your phone is set to the three different network modes available for your phone. These are Global, LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UMTS. You should also make sure that Advanced Calling is activated on your account.

Ideally, you should be able to surf the Internet while on a call while your phone has an LTE signal lock since the device routes the voice as data to the LTE connection while data is routed as data. If your phone is on a 3G connection only one mode of communication is able to pass by at one time which in this case voice has the priority over data. This is because apparently the S6 Edge has only one CDMA radio unlike the previous models which have two CDMA radios.

S6 Edge Not Connecting To LTE

Problem: my phone does not connect to LTE/CDMA, 3G/4G network even when i change from the preferred network mode. it only does connect when selected automatic and GSM/UMTS  but i had Samsung Galaxy s5 and the network was working well for me so it’s not due to my area .

Solution: If other devices in your immediate area using the same network as your phone can connect to LTE or 3G then the issue could be with your phone. Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset has completed check if the issue still persists. If it does then check if this is an account related issue by using another SIM in your phone.

S6 Edge Mobile Data Connection Is Unstable

Problem: When i activate my mobile data, the network operator turns on and off in a sort of flickering action constantly. I can’t use the data since its unstable. I tried restarting and still happens.

Solution: Try to check if an app installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are prevented from running. Turn on the mobile data switch then check if the issue still occurs. It is also best if you try to check the issue when your phone is located in different areas to eliminate any possible network problems.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you try to use a different SIM in your phone to check if the problem is account related.

One last troubleshooting step that you can do is to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.

S6 Edge Drops Data Connection

Problem: Drops data connection  constantly.  Phone works fine, Internet rarely works for long. Phone company says it is telephone  issue. Replaced with new S6 edge. Does exactly same thing.

Solution: If replacing the phone does not resolve the issue then it could be a caused by a problem with the network signal or an app installed in your phone. Try to check if the problem occurs in different locations. If the problem only occurs in one particular location then the signal may be weak in that location.

To check if an app you installed is causing the problem you will need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If the data connection stabilizes in this mode then an app is the most likely culprit. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
