S4 Unable To Make Calls

Problem: All of a sudden, unable to make calls via service mode found that the phone was now only on a single band 1800 would like to get all 4 bands back please.thanks

Solution: The bands available for this device are 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz for GSM. If your phone is only working on a single band then it could be that the coverage in your area is only for the 1800 band. Try to check if the same issue occurs in different area.

There’s also the possibility that this problem is caused by a glitch in the phone software. If this is the case I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the problem persists then try changing SIM cards or have your phone checked at an authorized service center for possible hardware related problems.

S4 Randomly Dialling Numbers

Problem: First, Sprint techs have never heard of my issue and can’t help me. When I call a number with phone tree options, like press 1 for english, the phone will repeatedly dial random numbers, and won’t stop while on the call.  The other recipient can hear numbers being dialed but I cannot.  Recipient  also can’t hear me because the dial tone overrides my voice. If I call the same number again, put the phone on speaker, and use the keypad to choose an option, the phone does not repeatedly dial random numbers. This is the same scenario when using headphones, no extra dialing of numbers. Thank you for any help.

Solution: Try checking if an app you installed in your phone is causing the problem by starting your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Make a call in this mode then check if the same issue occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the same issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then restart your  phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of your phone to clear out the temporary data in your device. Once this is done restart your phone then check if the same issue still occurs.

One last troubleshooting step that you should do if the problem still persists is a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this procedure.

S4 No Network Available When Making A Call

Problem: Can get and send text messages and email but it says no network available when i try to make a call

Solution: Before troubleshooting make sure that you are in an area with good network coverage. There are cases when the network signal may drop at the same time a call is being made so you have to eliminate this possibility.

Once you have made sure that you are in an area with a good signal the best troubleshooting steps you can do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset try making a call. If the problem still occurs then try to go to another location and check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this may already be a hardware related problem. If this is the case then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S4 Calls Can’t Be Heard

Problem: When I dial a number I can’t hear it ring nor can I hear the party answer and they can not hear me. It doesn’t matter if I use the speaker or handset, but it works fine with Bluetooth and works in safemode.  I tried rebooting to factory with no help.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Solution: This is strange since if the problem does not occur in Safe Mode then It may be caused by an app. However, doing a factory reset will delete all third party apps installed in your phone which should fix the problem.

I suggest you backup your phone data then do another round of factory reset. After the reset do not install any apps just yet. Make a call first then check if the issue still occurs.

If the issue still occurs then this may already be caused by a problem with the phone hardware. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S4 Can’t Receive Or Make Call

Problem: I can’t recieve or call anyone , though i have full signal strength and i tried changing my carrier service too, but there is some problem with my phone , not mic

I have at&t s4 unlocked

Solution: The best way to proceed in this scenario is to check if the phone software is causing this problem. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem persists after the reset then this may be caused by a faulty hardware. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S4 Can’t Make A Call

Problem: I cannot call out out its goes to their voicemail. I tried turning off my call forwarding but it tells me the operator won’t allow it. I need to know how to shut it off so I can make calls

Solution: You will need to check first if your account has an active call subscription. To do this you should contact your carrier who can also assist you regarding the call forwarding issue that you are having.

If your carrier confirms that you have an active call subscription then I suggest you backup your phone data then proceed with a factory reset. This will reset the device to its original factory condition. After the reset check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked since this may already be a hardware related problem.
