One of the best things about owning a smartphone is that you can download your favorite apps to it. The #Samsung Galaxy #S4 for example can access the millions of apps available in the Google Play store. For most people the app that they will probably install first is the Facebook app. This doesn’t come as a surprise since the social media network has more than a billion subscribers worldwide. Although this phone can easily run the app there are instances when issues can occur when accessing this app. This is what we will discuss today as we aim to tackle the Galaxy S4 Facebook app crashes issue & other app related problems.
If you own a Samsung Galaxy S4 or any other Android device for that matter then feel free to contact us using this form. We will be more than happy to assist you with any concern that you may have with your device. This is a free service we are offering with no strings attached. We however ask that when you do contact us try to be as detailed as possible so that an accurate assessment can be made and the correct solution can be given.

S4 Facebook App Crashes
Problem: My apps like WhatsApp, Facebook and others often crashes when ever I want to open them. What should I do to correct this
Solution: When multiple apps in your phone keep on crashing then it could be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data in the system software. To troubleshoot this problem you need to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if your apps still crash.
One other factor that can cause your apps to crash is a faulty microSD card. Try removing this card then check if the issue still occurs.
If at this point the problem still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S4 No Notification For Facebook App
Problem: It’s minor, but on my other Samsung s4 it would show my notifications number on the fb app and now it won’t. Also I can see where other people have shared their memories, yet it won’t give me the option to anymore with my new one. Thank you.
Solution: Is your phone running on Android Lollipop? If it is then check the app notification for the Facebook app. In particular check the Block switch. If this is turned on then you will not see any notification from the app. Turn this off if it is switched on.
If the notification setting of the app does not have a problem then the issue could be caused by the app itself. Try clearing the cache and data of the Facebook app. You will need to login to your Facebook account again once this is done.
If the issue still persists then uninstall the Facebook app and download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
One other factor that can cause this problem is the phone system software. Sometimes a corrupt temporary data in the phone can have this effect. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I recommend you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S4 Can’t Make Calls Using Facebook Messenger
Problem: I’m no longer able to use FB Messenger to make calls. Started several weeks ago. I couldn’t call one person, now I can’t call anyone. I have restarted the phone and taken out the battery and waited 10 seconds as well. Thanks for all advise.
Solution: Try checking first if the problem is not connection related by connecting your phone to different Wi-Fi hotspots then checking if the issue occurs. You should also check if the problem occurs when your phone is using a mobile data connection.
If the issue occurs despite your phone using different connection channels then the problem could be caused by the app itself. Was there a recent update done to the app? Try uninstalling the app update of the Messenger app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs. If the issue disappears then don’t install any app update yet. You will need to wait for another update to arrive which hopefully will fix the current bug you are experiencing.
If however the issue still occurs then you should clear the cache and data of the Messenger app. Check if you can now make calls.
One last troubleshooting step that you should consider is to uninstall the Messenger app then download a fresh version from the Google Play Store.
S4 Apps Unresponsive
Problem: Hi, over the past week my phone has been getting more and more unresponsive and it is quite annoying. For example messenger app (facebook) wont even open and i think facebook app is now the same, along with instagram. Texts aren’t sending at normal speed but very delayed and same for incoming texts. When i type it sometimes lags or repeats the word somehow. About 3 or 4 times a day i have to force shutdown the phone because the whole screen has become unresponsive, including the off and reset buttons, and when it turns back on the texts and missed calls notifications all come again even if i had seen them already. Even the camera app has frozen a couple of times. Im wondering if it’s a hardware problem and if i should go to get a replacement like you said?
Solution: Unresponsive issues on a phone is usually caused by problems in the phone data. Start the troubleshooting by starting your phone in recovery mode then wiping its cache partition. Restart your phone then check if it is still unresponsive.
There are also instances when a faulty microSD card can cause this type of problem. This happens when the phone is having difficulty trying to access the data stored in the card which could make the phone unresponsive. Try taking out the microSD card to check if this is the case.
If the issue still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not update the phone apps or software yet or install anything to your device. Check first if the issue still occurs.
If the problem still occurs then this may already be hardware related. If this is the case then I suggest you have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
S4 Good App Killer Recommendation
Problem: Can you recommend a good app killer? I currently have 360 security and it seems to do OK. If I have the phone on for an extended period of time and I go back and check and shut down apps for apps are running again in the background even though I haven’t launched any.
Solution: You should try downloading Greenify from the Google Play Store. This app can effectively hibernate any app you are not using thus freeing up more RAM and extending the battery life of your phone.
S4 Snapchat Not Working On Mobile Data
Problem: My snapchat won’t work on mobile data yet it’s not in the restricted apps but it just won’t upload stories and won’t send. What do i do?
Solution: Several other people are also having this same issue. While switching to a Wi-Fi connection is a temporary solution you can try clearing the cache and data of the app to check if this is caused by a glitch within the app itself. Uninstalling the app then reinstalling a fresh version from the Google Play Store is also highly recommended. When you have a fresh version installed in your phone make sure to enable background data on mobile for that app which is under Data Usage report in your Snapchat Settings.
