S4 Black Screen
Problem: I have recently bought this second hand Samsung s4 and it was working perfectly fine but when I got home it had turned itself off and when I would power it on it would bring up the normal screens e.g Samsung S4 GT i9505 and so on but then after that it would either go to a black screen and the led would glow blue or bring up a screen where the word Samsung would come up surrounded by colours and stop there and go to the beginning sometimes it would get to the lock screen and freeze and go back to the beginning or it would turn on and later in the day it would turn off or it would go green and slowly go white and when I tried to look for software updates it came up with as message saying the software had been modified and to update I would have to plug it in and use a app called Kies or visit a customer service centre I have tried resetting to factory settings so please help I rather quite like this phone and don’t want to get rid of it
Solution: This issue is most likely caused by a problem with the phone software. Since you are getting a message that says the software has been modified it means that the phone could be rooted and running a custom software. Since you already performed a factory reset which didn’t fix the issue I suggest you flash your phone back to its original software. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S4 Verizon Black Screen
Problem: hello I have a galaxy s4 Verizon and its black screened I tryed factory reset but it didn’t work .i took the battery out and pressed the buttons for a minute then put it back on but still didn’t work I tried doing factory reset again but when I pressed home button, power button,UP volume key it turns on but before it reaches the reset place it turns off and I tried all this again but using the DOWN volume key button it takes me to the place where u download a custom.ALL THIS STARTED WHEN I TURNED IT OFF AT NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING I TRIED TURNING IT ON BUT DIDN’T TURN ON.
Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem could be caused by a bad battery. Try getting a new battery and see if the problem still occurs. You may need to charge this new battery before using your phone. Make sure to charge the battery for at least 20 minutes before turning on the device.
If the issue still persists then this may already be a hardware related problem. if this is the case then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
S4 Works But Has Black Screen
Problem: My phone has a black screen and unable to access to retrieve my photos. The phone still works but you can’t view anything. Is there a way to get all pictures downloaded.
Solution: If the phone still works ( it is still getting notifications from calls and texts) then the problem could be caused by a damaged display. The only way to resolve this is to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked and possibly have the display replaced.
To retrieve the photos stored in the phone’s internal storage you will need to connect the device to a computer with Kies or Smart Switch running. If your phone does not have any security locks enabled then Kies or Smart Switch will be able to access your phone. Using the software you will be able to retrieve the photos stored in the phone.
S4 Stuck In Logo Does Not Start
Problem: Hi, my phone, Samsung Galaxy S4 was stuck in the logo screen and it can’t start up. Before my phone stuck on the logo screen, the OS always show some process or apps is forced to close. Can i know got what else solution to fix it other than reset to factory setting? One more question, can i still backup my files inside my phone while it stuck in the logo screen. Urgent because there are many important things inside my phone. Thank you so much! Regards
Solution: You won’t be able to backup the files in your phone if it is stuck in the logo screen. You will need to have your phone start properly before any data can be retrieved from your device.
To begin the troubleshooting you should first take out the battery and microSD card ( if your phone has one installed) then press the power button for at least a minute. What this does is it drains your phone circuit of any charge and clears out the RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try to turn on your phone.
If the problem still occurs try to turn on the phone with the wall charger attached. If the phone turns on then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery. You will need to replace this battery with a new one.
If the issue still remains then the next step is to try to access the recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of your phone. If this doesn’t solve the problem then you will have to decide to do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete all data stored in your phone.
One last troubleshooting step that you should consider doing should the above steps fail is to flash your phone software. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S4 Randomly Turns Off Then Gets Stuck In Logo
Problem: My phone randomly turned off and it wont turn back on past the logo. I have tried turning it on in recovery mode but it only gets to the logo with “recovery booting…” in the corner but wont go any further. When I turn it off and plug it into the charger it brings up the battery symbol but has a frozen loading sign instead of showing the green charging amount. It was working fine before this it seems very random. Accept my alarm sometimes wouldn’t let me swipe to turn it off until the second or third time snoozing it. Please help. Thanks
Solution: Try taking out the phone battery and microSD card (if your phone has one installed) then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge your phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try to turn on your phone. If the problem still occur then connect your phone to its wall charger then turn the phone again. If your phone turns on then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty battery. I suggest you replace your battery with a new one.
In case the phone does not start even when it is plugged to its wall charger then try to check if you can start the phone this time in recovery mode. From here you need to wipe the cache partition of your phone first. If this does not resolve the problem then you should proceed with a factory reset. Take note that this will delete the data stored in your phone.
If you are unable to access the recovery mode or if the factory reset fails to resolve the issue then one last troubleshooting step you should consider is to flash your phone software. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
S5 Update Installation Failed
Problem: I recently updated to a Droid 5.0.1 with ease and wanted to do my wife’s phone as well. After downloading the patch we went to restart the phone for the installation which stopped due to unknown error. We tried a second time and got the same outcome. I feel that the issue lies in a corrupt download and would like to know how I might get rid of the download so that we can try and redo it. I don’t know where the device stored it so that I can fully delete it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Related Problem: I made a system upgrade to lollipop, over long hours ita stock and not showing any updates with only samsung background blinking on the screen.i already made master reset but its not coming, it keeps on showing that it’s installing system update..what to do, please help
Solution: To resolve this problem you should first take out the microSD card of the phone if one is installed. The first thing that needs to be done is to start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device. Start the phone normally then check if the update proceeds. If the problem is still the same then go back to the recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will delete all data stored in the phone.
