HTC’s last known #Nexus device is the ill-fated #Nexus9 tablet, which faced some early issues and eventually lost steam in the tablet industry. A new report is now suggesting that the Taiwanese manufacturer could be partnering with Google again this year, but with two Nexus devices.
Although there’s no information on what these devices will be, it appears like the company is in running for a tablet as well as a smartphone. Perhaps we’ll finally get to see a follow up to the Nexus 9 tablet as well as the company’s return to the Nexus smartphone-fold. As you may know, the company hasn’t produced a Nexus smartphone since the Nexus One, so this could be big for the company.
Although it might not be the remedy for the company’s current financial troubles, it will go a long way in connecting with the core Android users who rely on Nexus devices. With Google going with companies like ASUS, HTC, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Samsung for its Nexus devices so far, it makes sense for HTC to make a comeback. The only global manufacturer that’s missing from the list is Sony. But who knows what the future holds, right?
Would you be open to an HTC made Nexus smartphone this year?
