#Sony has officially announced the arrival of the #XperiaZ5 and the #XperiaZ5Compact for the U.S. markets. A new revelation, which has been confirmed by multiple sources, tells us that both the handsets will not have a fingerprint scanner on board. This is a big letdown as Sony’s implementation of the fingerprint scanner, especially its positioning, is one of the best we’ve seen on Android smartphones so far.
The company hasn’t mentioned why this omission was made, but we’re very curious to learn about the company’s reasoning. Sony has also removed all mention of the fingerprint scanner from the American Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact product pages, which pretty much confirms this.
The Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact will be launched in the U.S. on the 7th of February for $599.99 and $499.99 respectively. With this new report however, we don’t there will be people lining up to buy the handset, not that there was a high likelihood of that happening anyway.
