The #Samsung #GearS2 smartwatch was released in the U.S. a couple of months ago. Customers were promised that the wearable would get support for #SamsungPay sometime in December. However, the date has come and gone, but the smartwatch didn’t see an update carrying the company’s proprietary wireless payments service.
A popular Samsung blog has now picked up a tweet from about a week ago which was posted by Samsung’s official Twitter account in response to a user query. And unfortunately, there’s not a lot of good news to report here. The company has officially mentioned that Samsung Pay for the Gear S2 will not make its way to the device before 2016, so the wait continues for the customers.
Samsung hasn’t specified the precise date as to when the Gear S2 will be made available to the users of the Gear S2, but we’re guessing it will happen sometime in Q1. It’s anybody’s guess as to why the company has delayed Samsung Pay for the wearable, but there might have been some compatibility issues given the form factor.
