S4 Pictures Come Out Blurry

Problem: Whenever i take pictures with my camera (the original one that came with the phone), the photos are super clear during the day. But if i am in a dark room or even a place with fireworks, the pictures comes out green and blurry. This also happens as i am about to take the photo, shows up as clear then goes blurry. This happens both with and without flash on. Now i installed an app called line app. My photos come out clear. No green, no blur so i am assuming this is something wrong with the camera that came with the phone. I factory reset the phone x2, to see if it would fix the issue. Sadly no.I am paranoid bringing it into the carrier as with previous  devices i had they fixed other concerns than  caused another issue (scratches on the screen) course they didn’t want to take ownership for that, but suggested me to upgrade (which i did to this one). I am presently out of warranty.

Solution: Usually, if the problem disappears when using a different app then it is most likely caused by the original app. Clearing the cache and data of the original app should fix the problem or even doing a factory reset. In this case though it appears that the reset does not fix the problem.

One other factor that could cause this problem is the microSD card. If this card i corrupt then the phone will have difficulty storing the photos in it which could lead to this type of problem. If you are using the microSD card as the default storage location for your photos then try switching this to the internal storage of your phone. If the problem disappears then you should consider getting a new microSD card.

S4 Camera Failed Error

Problem: Everytime I try to take a video with the back camera of my phone OR use my front camera for picture or video, it says WARNING: Camera failed. I can only take pictures with the back camera and absolutely nothing else works. I have already cleared cache and data, factory reset, and even got the camera replaced only to find out that none of those things solved the problem.

Solution: Is your phone running on its stock software or are you using a custom ROM? If your phone is running on a custom ROM then I suggest you revert back to its original software first.

Since you already performed a factory reset which didn’t solve the issue this may already be caused by a problem with the phone hardware. The camera module of your phone could already be defective. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

S4 Photos Taken Become Corrupt

Problem: I have been having issues with the camera and storage of photos. It seems to take photos but when you go back to look at the photos they either only show half of the photo or you can’t view them at all. This also occurs with videos too. I am using a 128 gb card. I see that it supports 64gb but doesn’t list anything higher than that. I also have trouble getting the phone to recognize the card also. It is a SanDisk ultra high density card with HD capabilities. I’ve lost some really good photos and video and I can’t seem to figure out how to resolve it. Unless I replace it. Please help.

Solution: In most cases such as this the issue is caused by a corrupted microSD card. Since you are using a 128GB microSD card then this could also be possible factor as to why the photos gets corrupt. I suggest you try to use a new microSD card on your phone, preferably with a capacity of 64GB and below.

As to what to do with the photos and videos already stored in the microSD card I suggest you take the microSD card out of your phone then connect it to your computer. If your computer can read the photos and videos then you should immediately make a backup copy. If our computer can’t read the photos and videos then the files are most likely corrupt already.

S4 Camera Takes Poor Pictures

Problem: the camera that came with the Galaxy S4 started taking poor pictures. The number of modes changed from 12 to 6. the camera’s setting wheel is missing from the camera screen but shows on the pulldown window. I cleaned the lenses and emptied the  caches.

Solution: It appears that this may already be an issue caused by a glitch in the phone software. I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S4 Camera Firmware Updating

Problem: My rear camera doesn’t work it only showing camera firmware updating

Solution: You will need to check first if this issue is caused by problems within the camera app. Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app then check if the issue still persists. If it does then wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. This deletes the temporary data stored in your device. Check if the problem still occurs.

One other factor that could cause this problem is the phone software itself. If this is the case then try to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this procedure.
