Note 4 Stuck In Boot Screen After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi, we are on holiday and the other day the ‘waterproof’ phone case leaked and some sea water got into the phone, it made the phone battery very hot so we took it out. When we got back to the hotel, I put it in a bag of rice for two days, even rinsed it under clean water after  reading some reviews. It is now dry and seemed to take a charge this morning. But when I tried to turn it on, it got stuck at the first screen, just kept looping the screen that said “samsung note 4”. Any suggestions on what we should do next? All help will be appreciated. Kind Regards.

Solution: Assuming that the hardware components of your phone wasn’t affected by the seawater the first thing that you should do is to take out the battery and the microSD card of your phone if one is installed. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge your phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on your phone. Does your phone complete the boot up process? If it does then you can go ahead and reinsert the microSD card.

If however the problem still persists then turn off your phone and start it in recovery mode. From here wipe the cache partition of your phone. Restart your phone normally then check if your phone will boot up.

If your phone still gets stuck in the Samsung logo then it’s time to consider doing a factory reset. Take note that this will delete your data stored in the phone so only do this if you have recently made a backup of your phone data.

If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then try replacing your phone battery. If your phone still doesn’t work then you should bring it to an authorized service center as some hardware component may have been affected by the water.

Note 4 Keeps Shutting Down

Problem: Yesterday, suddenly, my phone turned off, and started again, but didn’t completely start, it keeps on shutting down, again and again and again, before reaching the lock screen, tried a lot of methods, nothing seemed to help, yesterday, tried to hit the power button against the wall, once, and it worked for 20 hours, and now the same, and the method is not helping at all. Please help me with this.

Solution: Since you mentioned that when you hit the power button of your phone it worked for a couple of hours then this may mean that there might be a loose connection in the power button. You should however check if this issue is caused by a software problem first. To do this check if some form of corrupt temporary data is causing this problem by wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

Another factor that you should not overlook is that if a certain app you downloaded is causing this issue. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode and see if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then you need to find out what app is causing this problem and uninstall it.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then this may already be a hardware related issue caused by the phone’s power button. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 Turns Off While Taking Picture

Problem: While taking a picture my phone powers off and the only way to restart is to  plug in the charger. Recently I have  been having problems with the battery showing 100% charge while turned off and charging. But on restart battery is only charger 97%.I have tried Advanced Battery Calibrator and Battery Repair to try and solve this problem but it still persists.

Solution: There are different factors that needs to be checked to get to the bottom of this problem. The first thing that you should do is to verify if some form of corrupt temporary data stored in your phone is causing this problem. To do this you need to wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Try taking a picture.

Next, certain apps installed in your phone can also cause this issue. To check if this is the case just start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Try taking a picture. If your phone does not shut down then an app may be causing the problem. Do a trial and error method in finding out what this app is and uninstall it.

A faulty microSD card can also lead to this type of problem. To check if this is the case just take out your phone microSD card then take a picture.

Another factor that you should also consider is a corrupt phone software. To troubleshoot this you need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

Finally, if the above troubleshooting steps fail then try changing your battery with a new one. Your battery may not be supplying the correct voltage when the camera is used causing your phone to shut down.

Note 4 Black Screen After Failed Software Update

Problem: Dec. 1, 2015 – my phone told me it needed an update. I didn’t pay attention to it, as I’ve seen it before, and accepted the update. Now my phone will not boot up past the red Verizon screen. It is stuck and has been for the past hour (the update was “”11 mins””). My phone was getting REALLY hot, so I made an executive decision to remove the battery, since the power button had no response. I waited 10 mins and put the battery back in to boot up, but I’m still stuck at the red screen…. Now the screen is totally black and the LED notification light is strobing blue to white to blue again. No idea what is going on with my phone. It has NEVER done this before. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Solution: Your phone may have experienced a glitch in the process of installing the phone update. What you should do first is to take out the phone battery and microSD card if one is installed then press the power button for at least a minute. This drains your phone circuit of any charge and clears out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then try to check if your phone turns on normally.

If it doesn’t then wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Restart your phone then check if the issue still persists.

If the problem still occurs then I recommend doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete all data stored in your phone so only do this if you have recently made a backup of your phone data.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On If Not Connected to Charger

Problem: If my phone has charge and I take it off of the charger it’ll cut off and then the cut on screen will come on and then it’ll cut back off and it never makes it to the Verizon screen it just keeps doing that until I put it on the charger then it’ll cut all the way on.

Solution: This problem could be caused by a faulty battery. I suggest you get a new battery and replace the one your phone is using. Before getting the new battery though you should check first if this is a software related problem. Wipe the cache partition of your phone first from the recovery mode. If that does not work then backup your phone data and do a factory reset. If after the factory reset the issue still occurs then proceed with getting a new battery.

Note 4 Boot Loop

Problem: Hi, I am hoping you can shed some light into my frustrating situation I have got myself into with my Galaxy Note 4 (N910F). The phone had been rooted and was working quite the thing until one day browsing Facebook it froze on me, I thought nothing of it at the time and re booted my phone… only for it now to go into a boot loop soft bricked. I have tried numerous internet solution and different types of flashing via odin and micro sd card to no avail and still on a boot loop. What does this say about my phone or am I missing something simple and can be resolved. your help would much be appreciated. Thanks.

Solution: If flashing your phone software does not work then this may already be a hardware related problem. Try replacing your battery with a new one and see if this helps. If the issue persists then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked,
