Note 4 Power Drains Very Fast
Problem: Battery drains very fast, even when not using it and all recent apps closed, and I think it’s lying about how much is left. Went to an event I really wanted to video, so at 54% battery I turned on ultra battery saving mode, then when it was time to videotape turned that mode off with 52% battery still remaining, but when I went to start the video recorder, phone immediately shut off, missed recording the special fight I’d traveled out of town for. So that tells me the battery % isn’t accurate.
Solution: In this type of case I suspect the battery to be causing the problem. It may not be holding the correct charge anymore. Before buying a new battery though you should first check if the phone software is causing this problem.
First, start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to ru while apps you downloaded are disabled. Try to check if the battery still drains very fast in this mode. If the problem disappears then it could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the battery drain issue still occurs.
If the problem persists even after the reset then it may be time to get a new battery.
Note 4 Battery Drains Rapidly
Problem: Hi, so my Note 4 has a power issue. When the battery falls to 11% it rapidly, in less than a minute, drops down to 1% and powers off…heeeeeeeelp Cheers
Solution: Try checking first if a software issue is causing this problem. To do this you need to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. After the reset check if the battery drain issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you get a new battery.
Note 4 Shuts Down On Its Own
Problem: My phone will have 30% battery and all of a sudden it will shut down, when I turn it back on it will say it has 10% and once again turn off.
Solution: This issue could be caused by a problem with the phone software not properly recognizing the amount of charge left in your phone battery. Start your phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of your device. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
If after the reset you are still experiencing the same problem then you may have a faulty phone battery. I suggest you get a new battery and see if this resolves the problem.
Note 4 Power Drains Fast
Problem: Power drains fast when screen is on 25% brightness. Reading ebooks or playing games too. Had to buy a power bank.
Related Problem: My phone goes from 30 % to 0%. Doesn’t help when I use my phone a lot but this problem is really annoying
Solution: This issue could be caused by a rogue app or process running in the background. Try to check the battery usage statistics of your phone and see which app or process uses up the most battery life. From the data you gather you can then try to stop the process or uninstall the app.
One other thing that you can do is to start your phone in Safe Mode to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. If the battery drain issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone. You should also consider doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your data before doing this procedure.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the problem then I suggest you try to get a new battery and replace the battery your phone is using.
Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own
Problem: I recently purchased a Samsung Note 4 (SM N910T) for $250 from a guy on craigslist after saving up money to buy it, but it keeps turning off out of no where …though it typically occurs when the device gets warm.. It is in like new condition with box and good imei and I didn’t know it had problems turning off before I bought it, but after using it more the phone was having problems before I rooted it, after I rooted it, and after I odin’d the earliest version of kit kat of the phone.. The turning off occurs at any time, during boot, during flashing TWRP, during normal usage of phone, anytime. I recently purchased a brand new OEM Samsung Note 4 Battery and I was hoping it would solve m problems, but it still turned off. Please help me..
Solution: Since you already took care of the software troubleshooting of the phone which didn’t resolve the issue I suggest you try to check the battery port of your phone for any signs of damage or dirt. Do the same for the battery connectors. I also suggest getting a new battery to verify if this issue is caused by your battery.
If the problem still persists then this could already be a hardware related issue. I suggest you bring the device to an authorized service center and have it checked.
