One of the best features of the #Samsung Galaxy #Note4 is its 16MP rear camera that takes amazing quality photos. The camera has an LED flash to help it take photos in low light conditions. It also comes with optical image stabilization technology to make the subjects stay in focus. Note 4 Camera Won’t Focus Properly
Problem: Camera won’t focus properly. Takes a long time to focus, or won’t won’t focus at all. I’ve done partition cache reset, but this caused my phone to really start acting strange for a couple days.. All kinds of apps began misbehaving, until I did couple of soft restarts and reboots. I use Nova Launcher Pro, and I believe this bypasses most of the inherent problems in the native Launcher OS. I see all the complaints by these poor souls, and I wonder why their phones are behaving so. Try a good aftermarket Launcher, learn how to use it, and leave Touchwiz alone.
Solution: Sometimes certain third party apps installed in the phone can interfere with how Touchwiz works which is why issues start to occur. Getting another launcher like what you did usually helps in this case.
Regarding the phone camera not focusing properly there are several factors that needs to be checked to determine the exact cause of the problem. Begin with checking the camera lens itself. Is there something blocking it like a protective phone case perhaps? The case may be detected by the camera sensor and could confuse it as to where to focus. If your phone has a case installed then remove it. If the protective film covering the camera lens is still present then I suggest you take this out as well as this can also affect the focusing ability of your device.
Next, check if the camera lens has any dirt on it. This may also affect the focusing ability of your device. If necessary clean the case using a microfiber cloth or lens paper cleaner.
Another factor that can cause your phone to not focus properly is the phone software. To troubleshoot this start by clearing the cache and data of the camera app. It is also recommended to follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
If the problem still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Not Focusing Properly
Problem: I love the camera on this phone. It used to take fantastic pictures until about 4 days ago. Now it won’t focus clearly. ..tries to focus but it ends up blurry. I tried the selfie mode and it focuses clear. The phone was not dropped. Any ideas? No new apps have been installed. Please help!! Thank you!
Solution: Try checking the camera lens if there is any sign of smudges or dirt. This usually causes the photos to appear blurry. If needed, clean the lens using a microfiber cloth or lens paper cleaner.
Did you recently get a phone case? This case may also cause the phone to take blurry photos especially if the camera can detect the case and focuses on it. Try removing the phone case then check if the problem still occurs.
The next thing that you should check is the phone software. Sometimes a glitch in the phone software or some form of corrupt data can cause this issue. Start the troubleshooting by clearing the cache and data of the camera app. Follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone. If the problem still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Takes Too Long To Focus
Problem: More often than not, when I open up my camera it will make a noise as it takes a long (at least a minute) to focus. It doesn’t matter if the subject of my photo is close or far away, it will have this problem. Also my phone will occasionally shut off at 10%.
Solution: Before doing any troubleshooting make sure that your camera lens is clear. If you spot any dirt or smudges on it then clean the lens using a microfiber cloth or lens cleaner paper. This usually resolves the problem in most cases such as this.
If the problem still persists then there is a chance that some form of corrupt temporary data in the phone maybe the culprit. You should clear the cache and data of the camera app to check if this is the case. It’s also best if you follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone. Check if the problem still occurs.
Finally, if the problem still remains unresolved then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. The reset is also a highly recommended troubleshooting step to resolve the random shut offs of your phone.
Note 4 Turning Off Camera Shutter Sound
Problem: Is it possible to completely silence the camera? I’ve tried turning all sound off in the phone, but the “shutter” sound is still there. I’ve even looked toward camera apps in hopes that they will provide a solution, but no dice so far.
Solution: In some countries it is required that the shutter sound of the phone is not disabled. Try checking the camera settings of your phone for the shutter sound switch. If it is in the On position then tap on it to turn it Off. If your phone does not have the shutter sound setting option then this is not included in the phone’s firmware.
The only way to have the option to turn on and off the shutter sound of your phone is to reflash your device with a firmware that has this option.
Note 4 Won’t Focus At All
Problem: Won’t focus at all. I went to best buy and they reset it and tried to see if it was a scratch and they said it was a hardware problem. What can I do?
Solution: If a factory reset does not resolve the issue and the lens has already been inspected then this could already be a hardware related problem as stated by the guys over at Best Buy. You will need to bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Crashes When Taking Photo
Problem: whenever i use the camera and take a pic the phone crashes
Solution: Sometimes a faulty microSD card can cause this type of issue especially if it is used as the default save location of the camera. Try switching the save location to the internal storage of the phone then check if the problem still occurs. If it doesn’t then I suggest you use a different microSD card.
If it does then the next step is to check if some form of corrupt temporary data is causing the problem. To do this you need to clear the cache and data of the camera app. Follow this up by wiping the cache partition of your phone.
If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Screen Turns Dark, Pictures Appear Blurry
Problem: Hey the droid guy…recently i’m having issues with the camera of my note 4 like whenever i tap on the sequence shot mode the whole screen turns dark but i can see the background….the next problem that i have is that sports shot mode is not fast enough-i tried taking pictures through it but all of them came blurred which is really annoying. Thanks the android guy!!
Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem could be caused by some form of corrupt data in the app itself. Try clearing the cache and data of the camera app then see if the issue still occurs. It’s best if you wipe the cache partition of your phone as well.
If the problem still occurs then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
