Google’s #ProjectFi hasn’t been a resounding success so far, but there’s no denying that it has managed to strike a chord with plenty of users out there. Given that the service is only limited to devices like the #Nexus6, #Nexus5X and the #Nexus6P, only a handful of users are able to access the service at the moment. Not to mention the fact that it’s an invite only offering.
Well, Project Fi users will be pleased to know that the service has now officially added support for devices that only offer data, such as tablets. You can find the full list of compatible devices in the list below:
Nexus 7 – K009 (U.S. LTE)
Nexus 9 – 0P82300 (U.S. LTE)
iPad Air 2 – Model A1567
iPad mini 4 – Model A1550
Galaxy Tab S – Model SM-T807V
As you can see, there are a couple of iOS devices in there, so Google is finally expanding into non-Android territory as well. If you own a Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 or the Nexus 6P, you can still use a data-only Project Fi SIM card, but won’t be able to make or receive calls and texts. Interested?
