NVIDIA offering the Android 6.0 update for the Shield Tablet K1

Shield Tablet K1

Just as promised, #NVIDIA is sending out the #Android 6.0 #Marshmallow update for the #ShieldTabletK1 in time for the Holidays. The update carries all the bells and whistles of Marshmallow and introduces the ability to merge the microSD card storage with the internal storage, which is crucial for devices that have support for external cards.

The update is 665MB in size, so you will have to make sure your device is on an unlimited WiFi connection to ensure that no additional data charges are incurred. The rest of the Marshmallow specific changes will also be present on the tablet, but make sure you keep a look on that changelog to know exactly what’s new with the update.

Android 6.0 brings along a couple of crucial changes compared to Android 5.1 Lollipop and is a must have for all users. However, not all manufacturers are as speedy as NVIDIA when it comes to sending out updates. It’s very refreshing to see that the company is able to stick to its word and send out the update in time rather than make their customers wait.
