S5 Does Not Turn On

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S5 has not been working since about 9 o’clock this morning. It has done this before but only when its been charged with a charger that not is Samsung. However i have been using the correct charger yet my phone wont go off the Samsung screen that shows up when you turn your phone on. The screen comes on for about 2 seconds then vibrated and then goes off again and it constantly does that. I’ve tried to put it into recovery mode but that doesn’t seem to work neither does safe mode. Do you have any ideas on what i can do to fix this please? Thank you.

Solution: Try taking out the battery and the microSD card of your phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This discharges your phone circuit and clears out its RAM.

Reinsert just the battery first then turn on your phone. If your phone does not turn on check if you can access the recovery mode and wipe the cache partition of your phone.

You should also try to connect your phone to its wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes before turning it on. Make sure that the charging port of your phone is free of any dirt or debris. You should also make sure that the USB cord you are using to charge your device is working.

If the issue still persists then the phone software may be corrupt. You should attempt to do a factory reset in this case. Take note that this will delete all the data stored in your phone.

If a factory reset fails to resolve the problem then you may need to reflash your phone software. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular online Android forums.

S5 Turns Off

Problem: hi found your posts about the samsung galaxy s5 restarting or turning off but none of them match my issue. I was wondering if you could help. This started months ago but fortunately I have another phone. My s5 started restarting itself about a month after the lollipop update. I carried on with the phone for a bit but slowly it became more and more often to The point where every time I took it out of my pocket it had reset so I factory reset it but the problem stayed I sent it away to Samsung who said they couldn’t find anything wrong but reinstalled the phone with a different Rom. It seemed to work for a bit but now it will randomly just turn off instead. Since it has come back from Samsung I have installed very little on it but the phone can be rather slow at times. I have also tried safe mode but the phone froze and I wasn’t able to troubleshoot it . Any help would be greatly appreciated

Solution: This appears to be a hardware problem already. Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try taking it out then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked as there could be a malfunctioning component inside your phone.

S5 Does Not Boot Up

Problem: Hi, I attempted to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 first with Kingo App. I think it failed (though I just assumed this) because my phone just hanged up with the samsung logo boot screen stating something like, “recovery booting,” “seandroid not enforced..” Then, I attempted to root the device again, this time using odin. I followed a series of instructions from the internet and still, my Galaxy S5 won’t boot up. I tried using your methods from soft reset to hard reset (factory data reset) but still, my phone won’t boot up. Same stage (samsung logo/boot up screen) is experienced. Hope you can help me. Thank you very much!

Solution: It appears that your phone is soft bricked probably due to the root procedure. You will need to reinstal the stock Android software again on your device. To do this you need a copy of your device’s specific firmware which you can get at SamMobile. You also need a program called Odin installed in your computer. For a more detailed instruction on how to perform this procedure you should consult some of the popular online Android forums.

S5 Does Not Start

Problem: My boyfriend’s phone dies most of the time at work. When he gets home he would charge it all night and it will normally turn on in the morning. Somehow this time it didn’t! And now he is phoneless. I hope there is still a solution to this problem.

Solution: I suggest replacing the battery with a new one as the battery the phone is using right now may already be too weak to carry a charge.

S5 Does Not Charge Does Not Turn On

Problem: hello i have a new galaxy s5 i bought it before 2 days now it wont start or charge neither detect in my computer like a dead phone…i did an update to 5.0 lollipop. i want to know what happened and how to resolve this also recovery mode and download mode don’t work!!!! nothing work. help please.

Solution: The first thing you need to do is to check the charging status of your phone. Try to check the charging port of your phone if there are any signs of dirt or debris. Clean it if necessary using a can of compressed air or a cotton bud dipped in alcohol.

Charge your phone using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. Make sure to use a different USB cord when charging as the one you are using may already be defective.

If your phone still does not charge or turn on then replace the battery with a new one then check if your phone turns on.

If at this point you are still unable to charge the battery or turn your phone on then I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center as this may already be a hardware related problem.
