MetroPCS, T-Mobile’s prepaid subsidiary, is seeing some pretty massive changes soon. Now, customers will be able to get more data, and utilize it more effectively with two new programs.
The first upgrade is more data will be available for customers. If a customer is on the $40 or $50 GB plans, they will now get 3 GB and 5 GB of LTE data, up from the previous LTE limit of 2 GB and 4 GB of data. Unlike T-Mobile, which is increasing prices for its plans, these upgrades will be free.
MetroPCS customers will now also be able to use a new service, “Music Unlimited.” For customers using certain music streaming services, they will no longer count against your data usage. There are over 30 services supported, and some of the big ones include:
- Apple Music
- Google Play Music
- Milk Music
MetroPCS customers will also be able to take advantage of another feature, “Data Maximizer.” Similar to T-Mobile’s recently announced Binge On service, customers will be able to save more data when watching streaming video. However, it will still count against your data, even though videos will be compressed to 480P.
With these changes, people on MetroPCS will now be a lot more like T-Mobile customers, for a much cheaper price. Do any of these features make you want to switch to MetroPCS?
