#LG has announced that the #WatchUrbane2 with LTE will be officially available for purchase in the U.S. starting later this month. The smartwatch was shown off by the company along with the #LGV10 in the U.S. recently, so its arrival was always on the cards.
The smartwatch will carry a price tag of $499.99 and will be available starting November 13 via AT&T and November 19 from Verizon. AT&T will be selling the device at $299.99 on contract. Google also officially took the opportunity to announce cellular support on Android Wear officially, with the Watch Urbane 2 being one of the first wearables to offer support.
If you’re wondering why the pricing is so steep here, well it’s because LG is offering cellular connectivity and the ability to function on its own without a WiFi or Bluetooth connection. Given that it can also place calls using the onboard SIM card, it’s pretty much like a smartphone on your wrist.
The high price tag however might go against the device to some extent, although we expect LG’s marketing team to do a good job of convincing potential buyers of its potential. Do you think the LG Watch Urbane 2 is a good value for $499?
