The #AmazonEcho will supposedly be sold via retailers like The Home Depot, Staples, Sears, Brookstone, RadioShack, Fred Meyer, P.C. Richard & Son and several others over the coming weeks. The company will look to bring its home entertainment device/voice assistant to the stores in time for the holiday season this year.
It’s good to see how Amazon is willing to bring its products to offline retail outlets, despite having the largest online shopping portal at its disposal. Having the Echo present at brick-and-mortar outlets will allow customers who walk in to get a better feel of the product and learn first hand how it works and what it can do.
Among the long list of features are the ability to play music for you, give you weather information and also answer some nagging questions that you might have. So it’s pretty much like an always-on voice assistant that you don’t have to carry on your person at all times.
The Amazon Echo was originally priced at $199 and the pricing was brought down to $179, but is today selling for $149 through the company’s website. You can purchase the Amazon Echo from the company’s page below.
